Wednesday .... tonight is Bible study at church and the last time we will have a delightful young couple who is "home" for vacation.  It will probably be a year before we see them again.
Sunday I loaded them with cookies and tonight it will be candy.

We are having snow flurries today (it looks like a snow globe outside) so I thought I would make cupcakes and decorate them to look like snowmen.  I thought it would be a nice treat for my granddaughter.

Cupcakes always look so cute. I bet the snowmen will be nice.  How do you plan on doing the decoration?  3 mounds of frosting or are you going to use marshmallows?  (I would go for the 3 mounds of frosting...I like frosting)

Last night I had 6 bags of candy - so much fun to make - to give to dear people.  There was a great variety of candy in each bag - that great vanilla macadamia fudge, chocolate bark with smoked almonds, Nestles tiger butter, two layer bark with mixed dried fruit and pecans and peanut brittle.
Aftrer church people were eating and sharing and every body liked the peanut brittle best.

Vicki -- just type " tiger butter " in the above right Search area....... It's probably the fastest and easiest candy recipe you ever saw and it's certainly one of the best..

Sunday it's my turn to take treats to the Jr. church kids.  I'm baking a batch of cookies with just 2 drops of peppermint extract and a cup of crushed peppermint candy.  When they are done I'll dip half of each cookie in melted chocolate chips and sprinkle with more crushed peppermint  candy.

Nikki  I printed your eggnog cake recipe and will make it next week when my pies are all gone.  It looks really good.  I'll use cranberries also, as that's what I have

The cake was just alright.  Not great.  I do not think it had a real pronounced eggnog flavor.  I also thought it a bit dry.
I think this is the first recipe that I have used from King Arthur Flour that I am not thrilled with.
It might be better if a syrup or glaze was poured on it while warm from the oven that might moisten it and lend more flavor.

I made the cookies for Jr church and then looked at the calendar Yell ......... It's not my turn to produce cookies - - that's next week.  But a great bunch of girls from a CA Christian college are going to be singing for us tomorrow night so I'll take the cookies to them.

Nancy, you are a real sweetheart, the way you always share your treats with others.  Reminds me of that verse "even a child is known by his doings".  You are making quite a precious reputation for yourself in your good deeds.
