Most bakers and cooks have a few recipes that are "FAVORITES"..,What's yours?!

I have several, which I have posted a few already through out the board, but here is one that I will post tonight. I will also post some more over the next few days.

LEMON DELIGHT

2 STICKS BUTTER OR MARGARINE
2 CUPS FLOUR
2- 8 OZ. CREAM CHEESE
2 CUPS 10X SUGAR
2 - SMALL PACKAGES INSTANT LEMON PUDDING
3 CUPS MILK
1 LARGE CONTAINER OF COOL WHIP

CREAM BUTTER AND FLOUR, PRESS INTO 9 X 13 PAN; BAKE AT 350* 20-25 MINUTES (LET COOL)

WHIP TOGETHER CREAM CHEESE AND 2 CUPS 10 X SUGAR. SPREAD OVER COOLED CRUST

MIX LEMON PUDDING AND 3 CUPS MILK; BEAT WITH MIXER TILL THICK; SPREAD OVER CREAM CHEESE

TOP WITH COOL WHIP AND REFRIGERATE

Here is another favorite! I have about 3 more that I will post during the week... Enjoy everyone!

APPLE KUCHEN

1/2 CUP BUTTER OR MARGARINE, SOFTENED
1 PACKAGE OF YELLOW CAKE MIX
1/2 CUP FLAKED COCONUT
1 CAN (20 OZ.) PIE SLICED APPLES, WELL DRAINED OR 2 1/2 CUPS SLICED PARED BAKING APPLES
1/2 CUP SUGAR
1 TEASPOON CINNAMON
1 CUP DAIRY SOUR CREAM
2 EGG YOLKS OR 1 EGG

HEAT OVEN TO 350*. CUT BUTTER INTO CAKE MIX (DRY) UNTIL CRUMBLY. STIR IN COCONUT. PAT MIXTURE LIGHTLY IN UNGREASED OBLONG PAN, 13 X 9 X 2 INCHES, BUILDING UP SLIGHT EDGES. BAKE 10 MINUTES.

ARRANGE APPLES SLICES ON WARM CRUST. MIX SUGAR AND CINNAMON; SPRINKLE ON APPLES. BLEND SOUR CREAM AND EGG YOLKS; DRIZZLE ON APPLES. (TOPPING WILL NOT COMPLETELY COVER APPLES.) BAKE 25 MINUTES OR UNTIL EDGES ARE LIGHT BROWN. (DO NOT OVER BAKE.) SERVE WARM, 12 SERVINGS.

Susan - that sounds wonderful ..... But I don't own a pastry cutter (one of those things made out of lots of heavy wire?).
Is there any way I can make pastry without one?

Susan - that sounds wonderful ..... But I don't own a pastry cutter (one of those things made out of lots of heavy wire ?). Is there any way I can make pastry without one?

I don't have one either...I use my hands. Never had any problems doing it that way! Being a cookie baker like you are, this would not be a probelm for you what so ever! :')

PEACHES AND CREAM DESSERT

3/4 CUP ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1    4-SERVING SIZE PACKAGE REGULAR VANILLA PUDDING
1 TEASPOON BAKING POWDER
1    BEATEN EGG
1/2 CUP MILK
3 TABLESPOONS BUTTER OR MARGARINE MELTED
1   16 OZ. CAN PEACH SLICES
1    8 OZ. PACKAGE CREAM CHEESE, SOFTENED
1/2 CUP SUGAR
1 TABLESPOON SUGAR
1/2 TEASPOON GROUND CINNAMON

IN MIXING BOWL STIR TOGETHER FLOUR, PUDDING MIX AND BAKING POWDER. COMBINE EGG, MILK AND MELTED BUTTER OR MARGARINE; ADD TO DRY INGREDIENTS. MIX WELL; SPREAD IN A GREASED 8X8X2 INCH BAKING PAN. DRAIN PEACHES, RESERVING 1/3 CUP LIQUID. CHOP PEACHES; SPRINKLE ATOP BATTER. BEAT TOGETHER CREAM CHEESE, THE 1/2 CUP SUGAR AND RESERVED PEACH LIQUID; POUR ATOP PEACHES IN PAN. COMBINE THE 1 TABLESPOON SUGAR AND CINNAMON;SPRINKLE OVER ALL. BAKE IN 350* OVEN 45 MINUTES. COOL. SERVES 9.

You can use 2 knives and cut the fat into the flour that way. Or a fork but be careful with the fork you can over work it easily. Fingers work as well but if you have "hot hands" the fat can get to soft and mush into the flour so you don't get the pea like crumbs.

Thanks Nikki --- I am the proud owner of a pastry cutter..... On my way home while ago I went into WalMart and bought one. Wow. Now I have to learn how to use it. And I have to learn how to save money. This site is costing me a fortune.

STRAWBERRY PRETZEL SQUARES

2 CUPS FINELY CRUSHED PRETZELS
1/2 CUPS SUGAR, DIVIDED
2/3 CUP BUTTER OR MARGARINE, MELTED
12 OZ. CREAM CHEESE, SOFTENED
2 TBSP. MILK
1 CUP THAWED COOL WHIP TOPPING
2 CUPS BOILING WATER
1 PKG, (8 OZ. SERVING SIZE) STRAWBERRY FLAVOR GELATIN
1 1/2 CUPS COLD WATER
1 QT. (4 CUPS) STRAWBERRIES, SLICED

PREHEAT OVEN TO 350*. MIX PRETZELS, 1/4 CUP OF THE SUGAR AND THE BUTTER. PRESS ONTO BOTTOM OF 13 X 9 INCH BAKING PAN. BAKE 10 MIN. COOL.

BEAT CREAM CHEESE, REMAINING 1/4 CUP SUGAR AND MILK UNTIL WELL BLENDED. GENTLY ADD WHIPPED TOPPPING. SPREAD OVER CRUST. REFERATE UNTIL READY TO USE.

MEANWHILE, STIR BOILING WATER INTO GELATIN IN A LARGE BOWL AT LEAST 2 MIN. UNTIL COMPLETELY DISSOLVED. STIR IN COLD WATER. REFIGERATE 1 - 1/2 HOURS OR UNTIL THICKENED(SPOON DRAG THROUGH LEAVES DEFINITE IMPRESSION). STIR IN STRAWBERRIES, SPOON OVER CREAM CHEESE AND REFRIGERATE 3 HOURS OR UNTIL FIRM. CUT INTO 20 SQUARES TO SERVE. STORE LEFTOVER DESSERT IN REFRIGERATOR.

NOT REALLY a"RECIPE" ButI do this several times each day( most used if not favorite);
DIRECTIONS:
In a microwave safe mug , filled nearly to the top w/fresh cold water; place one tea bag [yourchoice]uirchice.
Place in microwave oven & heat on HIGH for 4 minutes...
Letsit until drinking temperature;, no waiting for water to boil; no pouring boiling water or timing (brew time); just perfectly brewed tea whenever I or hubbywants it.This works for every type of tea we've tried: orang pekoe; black; oolong; sweet touchnee; green; jasmine; contantcomment; & Thai teas .Sitdown &relax w/your cuppa & take that much needed; well earned break
