I plan my menus and stick to them. I write them on a calendar and know at a glance what I'll need for the whole month. When items go on sale or I have coupons I'll know I need them and save money and time that way. Also by putting them on the calendar I can see how to vary the meals each week, so I don't have lots of sandwich-type meals or pastas in a row, etc. I like to plan my barbecuing meals for the weekends (I live in Southern California) when I know my husband will be home to eat at a specific time. (His work commute during the week is too iffy and I can never know when he'll be home for dinner.) I shop for groceries once a week and find that lessens the urge to impulse-buy!

I've done this menu-planning for so long that when my sons come to visit they check the calendar to see what I'll be cooking!

Thanks Gale!  I was layed off a year ago and I volunteered at the food bank and now being layed off again, I am back helping again.  I also belong to the Lionettes that is accociated with the Lion's Club.  We raise money to help the community and this Christmas, we made 100 care packages for the local nursing home, I love to sew, so I volunteered to make about  30 eye glass cases for another nursing home and we also sent a big care box over to Irag for the soliders.  I truly love to help other, makes me feel good plus I try to do the Lord's work!
