Tomorrow morning I'm taking goodies to the local police. I need some peanut butter cookies.  This site has some fantastic, oh, so good, peanut butter cookies with chocolate chips!!
This batch will be half cookies and half candy -- I'll make more of my peanut brittle and more of Barbara B's CHUNKY PEANUT BRITTLE.
Hee hee --- last night I took bags of candy to dear friends at church.  One nice woman got a big bag with three kinds of peanut brittle.  Her reaction was so funny.

I made a bread pudding w/ the left-over croissants  and it came out very good
although the croissants were strangely dense and hard to cut for sandwiches
not a brand from around here      I think a lot of stores brought in outside items to help keep up

In Response to Re: In my oven.........:
Ann -- I do mail these cookies - lots of cookies -- around. Several young members of my church are in Bible college and one is in school with the National Guard.  I mail cookies to them. I wish postage didn't cost so much.

I'm baking oatmeal raisin cookies - a family favorite.  I bake these for the taste but also for the wonderful aroma that fills the house while they're baking.

Nothing......my top self cleaning oven is broken.  Not sure whether it is the thermostat or the heating unit.  Must call the repair man next week.  At least I still have the lower oven, but it isn't self cleaning, so I seldom use it.  Of course I have a microwave and a toaster oven to supplement.

I have a roast w/ potatoes and onions  simmering on top of stove       I no longer trust myself to handle that in my oven
but I will put a bag of garlic knots  I found at walmart in the oven
they are really very good         and you just put the whole bag (foil), unopened in the oven for 9 mins

I am planning on putting in some stuffed pork chops and roasted butternut squash a bit later.  I think I am going to make a cake in a bit.  I have some peanut butter candies that I made a week ago and since they are still sitting here I figured they would make a good filling in the center of a Bundt cake. (Experimenting again!)

This morning I made the pumpkin chocolate chip muffins that is a VBB recipe.  I think it is called Kids favorite muffins.  Recipe makes 36. It also called for 2 cups of sugar, so I used only one.  It had 3 cups of flour but I can't see "muffins" with that much sugar.  They tasted great.  I also halved the oil.

InN.H.I get to use my H.S French since we have many  French Canadians living here for generations. Of course my Parisian French is not  the same as the French they speak but I can use my  abilityto read French make y self understood if the other person is patient(It's like a Texas drawl &  The Queen's English( a rough comparison )Wink
