Judy - Pecan cinnamon caramel rolls are my favorite!  I'm okay at making them but have never been able to match the memory of the taste of my Aunt's rolls.

Sunday is my turn to supply goodies to Jr. church .... yesterday evening I made a batch of chocolate chip cookies.  I added a load of well drained, chopped, maraschino cherries.  I hope the kids like these.

Just made some pistachio orange biscotti.  It looks really good.  I'll post the recipe after I add the chocolate dip, and if I get the thumbs up from my husband.

Late last night I dumped out three bags of Nestles Dark Chocolate & Mint Morsels and sorted all the mint chips from the chocolate.
I like to make Mint Chocolate Delights and use only the mint chips ... I save the dark chocolate for something else.  I stirred up a batch of Mint Chocolate Delights which I will bake in the morning

yesterday I baked a tart cherry pie w/ lattice crust     from m.c.      on sale at Kroger for 4.49
I thought it was already baked like most of her pies
at least it was cool enough to use the oven at 400 gegrees for 45 mins
pie was very good with a little blue bell homemade vanilla

Yesterday we were meeting up with my husbands sister.  The day before I had given them a recipe for a Nantucket Cranberry Cake so I figured I would bake one so she could taste it before she made it herself.  It was a huge hit and I must say it was just as good as I remembered from last year. Not only that it made the house smell good.
Why do we need those artificial sprays, wax warmers and candles when the real stuff smells so good!

Nikki, I agree with you.  Yesterday I made a pot of lentil soup and cooked it on the wood stove all day.  The house smelled wonderful.

I baked chocolate cookies this afternoon and I didn't smell anything ............ then around 5:00  a young (10?) girl came to my door.  She lives up the road and was here to ask for a ride to church tonight.  I asked her to come in and she asked what smelled so good -- I gave her a warm cookie.
She said she didn't know anybody who made their own cookies - I gave her a bag.
I asked her to have her mom call me but that hasn't happened yet.

Never made b-b-q'd beans before but they were awesome.  I took them out of the oven about an hour before dinner and we ate every last bit of them before dinner time, lol!  I gave a small casserole of them to my good neighbor but we ate the rest of the one pound!  Didn't ever have dinner, thanks to tummies full of these awesome beans!  Even funnier, I don't like beans!

1 lb dried large lima/butter beans (could probably adjust recipe to use canned butter beans)
1 tsp salt

Sauce:

2 Tbs salad oil
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup ketsup
1/2 cup br sugar, packed
1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dry mustard (I forgot to put that in the recipe, lol)
6 slices bacon

Cover beans with 5 cups cold water.  Refrigerate overnight, covered.  Following day, put bens and liquid into a 5 qt kettle.  Add 1 tsp saltl and bring to a boil.  Reduce heat and simmer gently until tender and liquid is almost absorbed.  (Recipe says for 1 hr but that seemed too long, they got a bit soft).

In the meantime, make the sauce:

Put 2 Tbs vegetable oil in large saucepan.  Heat the oil then saute onion in oil until tender, about 5 mins.  Add remaining sauce ingredients and add 1 cup water.  Bring to a boil and then simmer uncovered 5 mins, stirring occasionally.

Preheat oven.

Drain beans, reserving 1/4 cup liquid (I didn't have enough to reserve liquid.)  Mix well.  Turn into 2 qt casserole and bake covered 1 hr.  I didn't bake one hour because the beans were already very soft.  Arrange cooked, drained bacon over the top and bake uncovered 10 mins.

Thanks, Bakery -- that sounds VERY good.  I have some dry navy beans and dry pinto beans but I added butter beans to my shopping list.
I can't wait to try these.
