I am having company for dinner and as usual I am using them as "guinea pigs" I purchased an electric smoker so I have a rather large pork shoulder in there.  Planning on a Blue cheese and bacon potato salad and coleslaw.  For dessert I think the Pumpkin Crunch cake will do nicely. Or possibly a Pineapple Upside down cake not sure what one yet.
So technically nothing is in my oven yet.  Will wait until I get home to do the cake.  Today is eye surgery #1 next week is eye #2. I do hope the doctor is correct in that there is no real "down time" to this.

Hope your surgery goes well!!  You are very ambitious to have company right after a medical procedure.  Good Luck!! Your menu sounds wonderful.

Take care of yourself.    We're all sending you best wishes and prayers/

Back home. Eye surgery went well. Little or no discomfort. I do hate stuff touching my eye so I figured there would be a some discomfort but it was not bad at all. I do have a bit of blurry vision now but nothing that I can't tolerate.
So I made the Pumpkin Crunch cake, the house smells wonderful.  Rather than making coleslaw I picked up a tray of Broccoli salad.  I just did not want to be chopping cabbage with blurry sight. (Did not even want to use processor) So I cheated a bit for dinner.

The more I read about this Narrow Angle Glaucoma I am surprised that the guy at Visionworks picked up on it. Thankful that he did.  Symptoms sound just like a migraine headache and vision loss can be pretty rapid once symptoms begin.

Yikes, Nikki - I am so happy to hear all went well.   I haven't heard of and know nothing of Narrow Angle Glaucoma - sounds awful.

I have three bananas that need desperately to be used.  This afternoon (when it's 90*!) I will bake some banana bread.    I'll add a handful of chocolate chips.

Yesterday I had 2 bananas that were thinking about going over so I made a double batch of banana mini chip muffins.  While they were baking I stirred up a sour cream chocolate cake.

Today it's cold -- 45* ....... a perfect day for cookies, but I have an appointment for a hair cut and then I'm following my neighbor into a neighboring town so she can leave her car at a repair shop.
I think I should have time to bake-  I hope so

I wish I had received the email from King Arthur Flour when you posted this....they have a recipe for a Banana Roll, made pretty much like the pumpkin roll filling and all except they used banana! It looks real good.

Mikki, love this apple pie combination.  Since the first time we ate it, it became one of our favorites.
