Gale...

Here is the recipe for THE BEST BUTTER COOKIES

2 CUPS (4 STICKS) BUTTER, SOFTENED
1 1/2 CUPS SUGAR
2 EGGS
1 TEAS. VANILLA
5 CUPS ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
2 TEAS. BAKING POWDER
1/2 TEAS. SALT

PREHEAT OVEN TO 375*.  CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR IN LARGE MIXING BOWL UNTIL LIGHT AND FLUFFLY.  BEAT IN EGGS AND VANILLA.  COMBINE FLOUR, BAKING POWDER AND SALT.  GRADUALLY ADD TO BUTTER MIXTURE; MIX WELL.  DIVIDE DOUGH IN FOURTHS.  ROLL OUT ONE-FOURTH OF DOUGH AT A TIME ON LIGHTLY FLOURED SURFACE TO 1/8 INCH THICKNESS.  KEEP REMAINING DOUGH REFRIGERATED.  CUT INTO DESIRED SHAPES WITH FLOURED COOKIE CUTTERS.  PLACE 1 INCH APART ON UNGREASED COOKIE SHEETS.  BAKE 6-8 MINUTES OR UNTIL LIGHTLY BROWNED.  TRANSFER COOKIES TO WIRE RACK; COOL COMPLETELY.  (Now I bake for 7 minutes and I get about 4-5 dozen cookies.  I also like my cut-outs on the fat side).
ENJOY!

This afternoon I baked blueberry muffins.  My brother came over this afternoon and as soon as he walked in the house he said:  You've been baking.  Told him I baked blueberry muffins and he headed into the kitchen.  I asked him if he wanted a muffin and he replied----Sounds good!!!

My husband loves blueberries.  That's why I make blueberry muffins.

Hi Nancy!

If I can do it, you can do it...believe me.  The only time I use a rolling pin is for these cookies, they roll out perfect and I must say, they are just as good as these Gourmet cookie companies make.

Trust me Nancy, you can do it...you won't be sorry!   :')

I bought a nice set of heart shaped cookie cutters a couple weeks ago and they are the only cutters I own.   I'll have to look for others.

Yesterday;Valentine'sday; hubby took me out to our faveMediterranean restaurant for lunch.
We  had most of our fave dishes& afewnewones  and  shared them all.
When we got home;I  hadan impulse/desire to bake a few treats for him:
4.5 dozen PB oatmeal cookies
a pan of banana  PB oatmeal cake( 16 squares)
Today; I baked nothing; he's got enough goodies & treats to last awhile and it's warm enough that we don't need to have the oven on.Wink

Last week I did a lot of baking.  I made beer bread, corn muffins, banana bread and blueberry muffins.  My husband was happy to get all the goodies.
