This morning since it was raining.  I baked an oatmeal cake.  That is one of my favorites as it is nice and moist and with the broiled "frosting" I don't really have to make frosting.

We've been baking like crazy lately and let me tell you it is not good for my hips!  We just made a batch of brownies with nuts in them, my favorite way, along with fudge frosting.  I always love to keep a little extra frosting in the pan for my granddaughter to lick out.  When my kids were growing up there was always a little bit of a tussle to see who could get the most.  Fun memories.

aaaaahhhhh -- I have three batches of dough in the fridge. One of chocolate chips, one of cranberry walnut oatmeal and one of white chip island cookies.
When the dough is cold I'll start baking.

I had a couple of apples just staring at me, so I baked some apple bran muffins (the recipe is on this site).  I don't like apples in apple pie, but put them in cake or muffins and I love them.

Laughing
Wookie Cookies
350* - 12 min - ungreased -
2 sticks of butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup rice krispies cereal
1 cup chopped pecans
Cream butter and sugar, add the remaining ingredients.
Add the cereal and nuts. Roll into small balls and place
on ungreased cookie sheet. Press balls down with the bottom
of a glass. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.

Bakery --Thanks for reminder -- I've made these two or three times -- they have a small red star.
LOL - my red star system is difficult for even me to understand!
It's been awhile since I made these ........ I'm going to have to get some Rice Krispies.
My Walmart sells only giant cereal boxes but in a different store the price of a small is almost the same.
