Just finished a batch of Dark Chocolate Pretzel Cranberry (Cherry) Candies ....... very easy, very fast and very good.

One of the girls at work made something like that. She put melted chocolate in a pretzel ring and a dried cranberry on top. Very good.

I just took 3 loaves of Stollen from the oven. One for us and 2 for the close neighbors. I decorated them with candied cherries. Inside the bread is a mix of dark raisins, golden raisins and candied cherries and slivered almonds..

The last of the Christmas cookies got baked and the decorating/frosting of the final cookies is done! Now, tomorrow is the delivery day of the goodie trays to friends and loved ones.

I took one stollen next door and got 3 dozen duck eggs in return. I took another one across the road and got a nice visit and coffee. They had brought a tray of cookies and fudge a couple days ago. Nice neighbors.

Today I took my leftover cookies and candies - fudge, barks and candied nuts and such - to church knowing someone would want/need them -- someone who hadn't already gotten a pile.
Sure enough the pastor's son made a surprise visit home from school in IN. He was beside himself with joy.

I made all different kinds of popcorn. White chocolate with crushed candy cane, chocolate drizzled with mint, pumpkin pie spices and plain with salt and nuts mixed in. They all needed to dry in the oven.

Well, you take 6lbs of hamburger & make the most meatloaf that you've ever seen at one time! I decided to see what taste I could come up with & it was yummy! I know that you can put anything in meatloaf so...in goes 2 eggs, a large dump of milk, bunch of oatmeal, a full (small) bottle of A1 steak sauce, big squirt of mustard, ditto for the catsup, 2 cans of corn, some pre-bagged shredded carrots (2 handfuls), salt and pepper & 2 cans of stewed tomatoes. I stopped just short of dumping in some pickles 'cause my daughter was watching in horror thinking that she'll have to eat all that mixed up taste! So funny!

Some meatloaf to eat & some for the freezer. I'm kind of a dab of this and a bunch of that kind of cook. I usually tell when something is done cooking by the smell instead of watching the time. You should have seen her face! Priceless! And just when the kids think you have no more surprises because you're getting old!

A store baked slice of Pecan Pie that had a 2.00 off coupon on it. Not as good as homemade however a lot cheaper

This morning I made a gooseberry (had some in the freezer) pie and a chocolate pecan pie. I'm making the pretzel strawberry "salad" and have the pretzel crust baked, the jello chilling and the cream cheese softening. While that is happening I'll stir up some cookie dough so I can take cookies to work tomorrow.
We went to church last night at 7 so didn't have to go out today.

Chocolate Pecan Pie....Oh my that sounds like a slice of heaven.

I just took a Rosemary/sea salt Foccacia out of the oven to go with Lasagna for dinner tonight.
I normally do a Rib roast but was unable to get the shopping done so lasagna it is.

I stirred up a new recipe for chocolate cookies topped with a chocolate chip icing then a pecan half (My no-baking didn't last long) then went to the youth minister's house. We all had a great time.
Now I'm home to bake that dough.
