This was the first time I had made them in the breadmaker, it was faster, but not sure I like how they turned out, maybe the recipe didn't suit me.

Judy - lol lol - I do bake too much.  The amount I spend on plain things like sugar and flour is BAD ...... the amount I spend on chocolate chips, cocoa, nuts, etc is beyond BAD.  I really need a new hobby - like pretty clothes or jewelry or trips.... something.

Nancy you are like me you love to please others.Nothing and I mean nothing makes us happier than making others happy.Jewelry,clothes and other material things get old after awhile.Nothing is better than an old friendship!So many of my friends are people I baked for.

I'm roasting some western ribs for pulled pork,I seasoned them with garlic powder,season salt and pepper.They are roasting slowly and when they start falling apart I will drain off the fat and shred the meat and mix it with a little BBQ sauce.This will be for tomorrow when the kids come for dinner.

Gale - please, what are "western ribs"?   I love BBQ'd small pork spare ribs but they sure wouldn't work for pulled pork.

Nancy,they really aren't ribs they are cut from the pork shoulder,they can be boneless or bone in.I like the bone in I think the bones add a lot of flavor.They were on "sale" for $2.59 a pound,not so long ago they were .99-$1.49 a pound.I season them like I said before and put them in my covered roaster with a little water.I roast them @325 for a few hours.I have to watch them so the water doesn't cook off all the way,or they will burn.Once the meat is falling off the bone I shred it and add some of the broth back to it to make it moist and put it back in the oven uncovered to brown up a little,then add whatever  and how much BBQ sauce you like.I serve it on Kaiser rolls.Tonight I took it out of the oven,shredded it added the broth and put it in the fridge.Tomorrow I'll put it back in the oven to heat up and add the BBQ sauce just before we eat.I'm too tired to finish tonight.The heat and shopping knock me out lol lol lol.If the pork shoulder roast would have been cheaper I would have bought that.You need a fatter cut of meat like this for flavor.I have to agree with Emeril, pork fat rules! Everyone who tastes it think it's the best.Homemade Mac salad,cole slaw will be seved with it.If you aren't a fan of BBQ sauce just a little apple cider vinegar sprinkled on is very good too.

Thanks Gale .... Isn't this site incredible for all the cooking stuff you can learm?

I got up early this morning to bake one little batch of cookies ...... made with Heath pieces instead of chocolate chips but, after cooling, dipped into melted chocolate.  Oh, they are good!  And they're pretty.

Gale - they ARE good .... matter of fact, they're great. Really great cookies.  They are so delicious I'm going to buy more of those Heath chips and make more.  I can't wait to hear other peoples reactions to these.

Well it's what I thought it was.The flame sensor needs replaced.The broiler still works so that's a good thing.I have tons of no bake goodie recipes and fresh fruit. I can always make crepes,so I won't be suffering too much.The only thing that I will really miss is BREAD.I can call around for the part and get that here but my son or brother will have to replace it and both are super busy right now.

 GRANA  here;
Neither of us misses just baked cookies when it's this hot humid weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Fresh fruit is more hydrating; easier to prepare too
 cool beverages  are also  appreciated more than a sweet cookie when it s so hot & humid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got some bananas from my daughter.  they are just starting to get brown spots and she was going to toss them out!  I guess I will "force" myself to make a Banana Cake that I printed this week.
Also in my oven...
I saw a sign today...yard sale..
I just had to stop to see if I could add to my Cookie Jar collection.  No cookie jars but I got a Chantal Copper tea kettle with a two tone harmonica type whistle on it for $5.50 and a  Cast Iron Dutch Oven for $9.00.  The cast iron pan is rusted in spots so I have to clean it up and re season it.  I was told that the fastest way to clean the rust is to put it in the oven on a self clean cycle. I had never heard that and I will do a little research before I so it.  If anyone has any ideas let me know...

I often find "Country Style Ribs" they are pretty meaty pieces of pork and I do a low slow bake in the oven.  I rub with a mixture of salt, pepper, cayenne, paprika, brown sugar and they stay in the oven for 3 hours or so then I pull the meat apart and add BBQ sauce.  Serve over a bun.  Some of the leftovers gets turned into BBQ pork fried rice.
