GRANA here;
Still recovering from Oct 16th srgery but not enought do any serious baking or cooking;living on cannedsoups( doctored up by me w/ added herbs& other ingredients; reruns from freezer & takeout lunch specials. Hubby makes salads & sandwiches to give more variety to meals but I look fwd. to being able to once again preparing some good home coking... hubby bought a few boxes of vanilla wafers so that we can still enjoy hot tea/cocoa w/cokies tillI I can once again bake some of ur faves: brownies & oatmeal cookies

Ann so sorry to hear about you having surgery.I hope you recover soon and get back to your baking and cooking.It's nice to see you back ! I bought a few frozen pies not as good as homemade but the price was right so I'm baking a cherry pie for desert with vanilla ice cream..

This morning I'm stirring up a batch of Apple Peanut Butter Cookies and tossing it into the 'fridge. While that's getting cold I'll really bake another of Nikki's Pumpkin Pie Crunch.
It's a cold, very foggy morning - a great time to stay home and bake!

Hi...I am new to this site. As part of returning to the UK (from Florida- we are American/English family) I am baking to keep the kitchen warm! I love to bake, and have wondered why I wasn't making time for it...now, I am going to bake again! Kids are coming this weekend to celebrate Thanksgiving (England doesn't take a day off on Thursday so we are celebrating on Saturday) and I am having a great time looking at recipes. My husband found a HUGE turkey in the local supermaket...may last us til Christmas! Anyway, instead of missing America, I'm baking! Thanks for this conversation.

I did hold out 1/4 of the dough to skip the candy bar but add semi-sweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, white chips, peanut butter chips and dry roasted peanuts.

Yesterday i made my Thanksgiving pies. Always have to have a pumpkin and I found a recipe in a cooking magazine for pear/cranberry that had chopped pecans and maple syrup in it. Funny thing is it only had a top crust. It also had the crust recipe which used butter and shortening. It came out really short (melt in your mouth). We had to try it last night and it was really good.

Nikki's incredible Pumpkin Pie Crunch is out of the oven ...... setting on the counter cooling.
OH !!!
It smells SO good it's going to be very, very hard to part with it.

I guess I could make another - maybe in two 8" square pans - give one to my next door neighbor and keep one for myself. Why didn't I buy TWO spice cake mixes??

If you haven't tried that recipe yet ...... I think you should very soon.

I'm making some dark chocolate cookies that when baked, I'll dip half of each into melted white chips then sprinkle on crushed candy canes. I saw that idea somewhere .... it's not mine but I think it sounds and looks great.
