I took advantage of cooler weather ( in the 70's) today & having takeout for lunchI & baked 2 dozen TOLLHOUSE cookies & another 2 dozen (RTB)are in the freezer to bake on the next "cooler"day!

Earlier in the day, this morning; I baked/roasted Rosemary chicken breast w/ baby redskin potatoes for tonight's dinner;
Now, we are both baking in the heat that that built up n our home.Hubby just turned on the ivingroom fan &"OH WHAT A RELIEF IT IS!"

NO- thing ,, today!
hubby has been buying & enjoying fresh seasonal fruits for snacks & desserts, freeing me from the need to bake cookies& snacks in the hot weather.Today, I bought him a pkg of" "nutritional" (Oreo type) cookies w/ a FREE COUPON. 3 cookies have 170 calories & as much calcium &Vit D as a glass of milk; one starch exchange & as much VIT C as a cup of blueberries. Oreos were once his fave cookie; till I baked hm a batch of brownies. These nutritional cookies are A" CLOSE SECOND"& he enjoys them w/ a glass of milk after a handfull of black cherries, a juicy ripe peach and a slice of watermelon; folowed by a scoop of ice cream, if available!

My traditional day of rest.It is hot& humid soI'll not be baking today.There are plenty of asst. cookies, a rhubarb pie & MOOSE TRACK ice cream available so I see no need to bake!
No baking today; nothing in the oven.

After a couple of cooler days the heat has returned. My son and granddaughter wanted to bake something but didn't want to heat up the house too much so they made a pan of cookies. They made the peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie recipe that's on this site, except this time they used dark chocolate chips and baked them in a jelly roll pan. They are a big hit with the rest of the family.

Today I baked 12 blueberry banana bran muffins; hope to have a few forthe weekend; not likely, they're very good & going fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
having the oven on for nearly an hour@400'& the results (a hot home) makes me doubtful if I wil bake again any time soon:>)

Today we baked the chocolate chip and oatmeal cookie recipe that is on this site. I was skeptical at first, but they are really tasty. We used dark chocolate chips, since they are our favorite to use.

even though it is HOT & HUMID, today;I baked a batch of blueberry bran muffins( 6 regular& 30 minis; as well as Chinese style roastpork(CHAR SHU) aka pork strips It must marinate for 72 hours before roasting.I cut it into 2 smaller pieces so that it would cook pretty fast at 325' & I hoped t would not heat up the house in the short time( 2 hours) it was in the oven I"cheated" &raised the oven to 350' & baked a batch of 2 doz TOLLHOUSE COOKIES ALONG w/ the roastThe house may be hot but all in a good cause( a delightful appetizer etizer & go w/ item for Chinese dishes for several days; blueberry muffins for breakfast, snax & desserts "while they last" !!!!!!!

I try to not bake in the HOT SUMMER WEATHER.We plannedto go to theGRAND ASIAN BUFFET for lunch( A.7. & a good variety of food, moderate pricing ice. ; but we were eunable t go due to circumstances grabbed a cup of vanila yogurt for lunch w/wholefgrain granola, filled me up but I stillwanted Asian food.
Hubby made himselfa boloney& cheese sandwich for lunch but had no interest in dinner.
I mixed up a Chinese 5 spice marinade for the ( whole) chicken breast we bought on sale Thursday .l marinated it & roasted it at 375' til done.........crispyskin & juicy inside & it feels like an oven in our home; smells terrific but efeels likean oven now & it's too hot to eat!!!!!!!
