Thanks Nikki ..... country style ribs are easy to find here.
hmmmmmmmm at church Sunday night is a sandwich dinner for some dear, dear people who are leaving this area.  BBQ pork sandwiches would be a great treat.   I've bought the stuff for chicken salad sandwiches.  Gotta' think about this.

In Response to Re: In my oven......... : I often find "Country Style Ribs" they are pretty meaty pieces of pork and I do a low slow bake in the oven.  I rub with a mixture of salt, pepper, cayenne, paprika, brown sugar and they stay in the oven for 3 hours or so then I pull the meat apart and add BBQ sauce.  Serve over a bun.  Some of the leftovers gets turned into BBQ pork fried rice.

As soon as I finish my mid morning snack (tea and rice krispie squares), I'm going to make some cookies and then a batch of granola.  I noticed I'm running low.  Must have it to top my yogurt I have for lunch at work

I have to head out to the freezer in the garage and start packing cookies for that large family leaving early monday.  I have a big cardboard box that I'm going to fill with zip-lock bags of cookies.
Gee I'm going to miss those kids  Cry

That garage is just as hot as an oven!!

We have a freshly baked pan of brownies cooling on the counter.  I think the next thing we'll bake is the recipe for buttermilk chocolate chip cookies that was my Mom's.  Unfortunately, it needs a little tweeking because they don't turn out like hers at all.  We think when she copied the recipe for us something was not transferred properly.

My sister and her husband are going to come for dinner tomorrow so I just put the base for the Rosemary-Kissed Chocolate Satin Tart into the oven.  That is such a good pie. One of my new favorites!

Today I baked a blackberry cake (from some of the berries I picked) and when it came out, I put in a batch of granola as I was running low.

The blackberry cake was fantastic.  It was a layer of batter, layer of berries, rest of batter, rest of berries and a crumb topping.  Yum!

I'm home from painting at church --- I'm starting that cake.  Judy, if I had any blackberries I'd toss them in.

EmbarassedCryYell  Total disaster.......... what a great recipe, what a great cake I've made before.  This time I cooked it the full 40 minutes and it certainly LOOKED done.   It felt done.   I let it cool for a couple hours and then put on the frosting.  I cut it into squares to take with me tonight, saving the edges for me.  Well - it's a liquid, gooey, miserable mess.   I don't think the center of  that thing even got hot.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Nellie --- come on .... aren't you going to tell me what happened?
I am just sick. I had such great plans for that thing.
And you're certainly right about the COST.   I spent a small fortune on that thing and lost every cent.
