oN FRIDAY,I seasoned & roasted 3 TURKEY DRUMSTICKS & 2 yams so that hubby can enjoy"reruns" of his fave parts of the Thank giving meal whenever he wants to
He bought an apple pie & , cranberry sauce I baked an apple crisp to complete those mini meals

yesterday i cheated and baked a pkg of nestle's ultimate chocolate lovers pre-formed cookies

they really are good
i had bought 8 pkgs of these cookies last month when they were on sale for 2/3.00 in a buy 10 items/get 5.00 off at register lowering the price to 1.00 each
i also used 4 coupons 3 1.00 and 1 1.25 on 2 pkgs so at about 50 cents each i couldn't pass them up
i also got credit on my gas points

There is nothing in my oven today............I am still FULL from Thanksgiving. Besides, there is not a morsel of leftovers available.! I guess Bob Evans is going to have two customers sometime today!!

I certainly had no plans for baking but now I'm thinking about how nice that oven would feel.

Yesterday,I baked 8 pumpin pie tarts& an 8" pumpkin pie;.....jumped the gun on pumpkin pie cravings
today one baked potato to magically turn into "loaded' baked potato soup
perfect meal on a cold& busy day; dessert will be stolen, pie choiceor apple crisp;

Hurrah!! Finally a repairman is coming to fix my dishwasher .... he's due tomorrow afternoon. THEN I'll do some more baking --- that takes too many dishes to wash by hand!
Because I have to pay so much (yikes) for that, I'm having him look at my big freezer too.
My next project will be cookies. I found a recipe for Soft & Chewy Chocolate Drops that I can't wait to try.

Yesterday I didn't have to go to work, so I made a quick yeast cinnamon coffee cake for out 10 am snack. It uses 2 packs of
fast rising yeast and you put the batter in a cold oven, turn it on and 20 minutes later you have a nice coffee cake.

I gave a nice big bag of cookies to the appliance repair man that was here ...... and because he said he had 4 children I gave him 4 of the the little buckets full of Christmas treats.

Astonishing experience..... I showed him the broken dishwasher door. He asked me to watch while he pulled it out a bit, jerked it and pushed the whole machine back into place. Perfect.   And he said he could not charge me for that. Then we looked at the freezer and he told me what had to be done AFTER it was emptied and the ice was removed.
He laughed because he couldn't charge me anything!! I laughingly told him my dear, old Kitchen Aid was broken. He asked to see it and fixed it in 2 minutes ......... so I showed him my vac that wouldn't change gears anymore -- he fixed it in 2 minutes.   No new parts - just the hand tools he carried and lots of skill..

And he still would not take a dime.   He said he would charge me when he returned to fix the freezer and he expected cookies with the money.
