In my oven, today??Only the lingering heavenly aroma of Nestle's RTB "ultimates" chocolate filled cookies.we had vegetanble beef-barley soup for dinner(big brunch today)
It ( THE SOUP) is something we both love & today is quite chillyThe soup & buttered toast was a (nearly) perfect meal.
With the EASY addition of the cookies; hubby agreed" THE PERFECT MEAL;"

Since I can't go anywhere today,I am going to bake.My niece sent me a recipe for pop overs and I have never had them or tasted one this is a good experiment for today.Hubby has to work tonight so I think I will also make some dough for monkey bead and I will time it for when he walks threw the door tomorrow morning,I love to surprise him.

while hubby was out; early this AM; shopping for groceries;I baked banana-nut chocolate ( semi-sweet & white) chips & strawberry 8"x8" cake; mini muffins and soft & chewy cookies; an'"experiment" that succeeded

I used to enjoy them 50+ years ago in a N.Y.C. restaurant, right outside Central Park.
I made them at home for years; very light & eggy, like a soufle; greatw/steak & roast beef or alongside any hot soup.

Hi Ann,How are you? Glad to see you survived the storm.The popovers came out excellent.My husband enjoyed them.I don't know why I've never made them before.The niece that sent me the recipe,finally was succsessful making a yeast dough and she was so happy and me too! She says I was the one that kept pushing her to keep trying and she did it!

A sunshine cake made from a yellow cake mix, a large can of mandarin oranges, juice and all, 4 eggs and 1/2 cup oil. This will be frosted with a 13 oz or maybe it is 12 oz, 1/2 small box of instant vanilla pudding and a large can of pineapple, well drained.

I like making this cake because it is light and refreshing after a heavy dinner. I need this because tomorrow night's dinner will be Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, broccoli slaw, green and yellow beans mixed and homemade bread.

We normally don't eat like this, but company is coming and I'm pulling out all the stops!

I am going to make a Bundt cake tonight. Found the recipe on a calendar I got last year. I went through the calendar the other day ripping out recipes I want to try. The is for Fudgy Peppermint Truffle Chocolate Cake.

I am planning to make a Chocolate Turtle cake. It sounds rich, lucious and totally loaded with those nasty things called calories. But, in this cold, I don't care! We will burn them scraping/shoveling snow!
