Tonight I baked the usual chocolate chip cookies but subsituted white chips. And I added lots of pecans.
And .......
I made a big batch of those great Snickers candy bar cookies.
I did hold out 1/4 of the dough to skip the candy bar but add semi-sweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, white chips, peanut butter chips and dry roasted peanuts.

I made buttermilk cinnamon bread, toffee coffee cake and buttermilk coconut bars today. All because I had milk that needed to be used. Oh, and brunch was bacon cheddar pull aparts. It was a busy day in the kitchen.

Ann -- I do mail these cookies - lots of cookies -- around. Several young members of my church are in Bible college and one is in school with the National Guard. I mail cookies to them.
I wish postage didn't cost so much.

Tonight,I baked 7 dozen chocolate crackle cookies; like brownie drop cookies rolled in confectioner'ssugar before baking.They come out likesnow topped fudge drop cookies.I aded rum extractto the batter ( trying to come up w/something different for cookie exchanges this year.IthinkIhave "a winner" but they are messy to make & too good to keep around for very long
I kept taste-testing tasting (one from each batch as they came from the oven & now I've no appetite for thebeef-barley soup; planned & made For our dinner. Sweet hubby made himself hommus on a 1/2 toasted whole grain bagel & suggested I serve the soup tomorrow night. There are still plenty of cookies for desserts tomorrow( lunch & dinner)

I finally made something that I thought of making for about 30 years. I am sorry I waited so long, but I finally made "stuffed onions". I just did the chicken flavored stuffing & the leftovers were just as good reheated in the microwave. I used 6 large onions & was able to make 4 small versions out of the insides that I was able to pull out intact (I kind of messed up the first 2 that I did). I planned on using the onions as a side dish, but I ended up eating 2 of them and was full so that was my dinner. I used large yellow cooking onions but after baking they were nice & sweet. I plan on making small ones for the holidays.

PS no onion breath

We are celebrating my 28 year old sons birthday tomarrow.I'm making his favorite cake today(Hungarian walnut torte)He and my daughter- in- law come over every Sunday for our family dinner.I still have my 21 year old son at home,so I'm still always in the kitchen making something.LOL

We are hosting a pot luck Haloween Brunch tomorrow for my niece who is visiting her daughter who is in a local college. My niece and her husband live just outside of Paris, France. My contribution is home made cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting and Pecan sticky buns. The sticky buns are rising right now, but will be in the oven soon. Then it will really smell good in the house.
