So here is my dilemma.  I was going to make Pizelle's, peanut butter blossoms, and some other cookie for the office holidya party, but the woman who is managing the catering says the caterers are

What to make for office party?

So here is my dilemma. I was going to make Pizelle's, peanut butter blossoms, and some other cookie for the office holidya party, but the woman who is managing the catering says the caterers are providing cookies. I'm sure the cookies are going to be some generic sugar or chocolate chip cookies and not nearly as good as mine. However, should I stick with my original plan or make something else and what should that be? We are having black velvet cupcakes and coconut flan. I make a killer peanut butter pie, but I know not everyone likes that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Evelyn, I say make your cookies. Bring some small sandwich bags and people can take a few back to their desks or home..those long commutes are made so much better while nibbling on some cookies.

Now go ahead and make the Peanut Butter Pie and "forget it" on the counter so you can have it for dinner this weekend.

Candy? Divinity or fudge would be a great treat at an office party.

Soft peppermint sticks dipped in chocolate?
Caramel apples - sliced into wedges at serving time?

I have a recipe for microwave peanut brittle that's a hit where ever I take it.

I don't know anyone who would turn down a piece of homemade Chocolate fudge! Make a double batch, and watch it disappear right before your eyes!!

Pizzelles, probably the one cookie I do not like because of the strong Anise flavor. But they are so pretty and smell so good.
If they were made with almond flavor they would be right there as a favorite.

Pizelles can be made in any flavor I have a recipe for chocolate cinnamon.I make them and them wrap them around metal tube that you make cannoli's on and let them cool then sprinkle with a little powder sugar.I have draped them over an inverted glass allow to cool and this makes the perfect little bowl for ice cream,I really like spumoni in them.I have even filled the tube shaped ones with sweetened ricotta,like a cannoli Fill just before serving so it doesn't get soft.

GRANA here;I suggest something that does not require forks or spoons; only a napkin and/or small paper plate: bundt cake;cookies;crudites( raw veggie pieces) w/ a dip( for those trying to limit their caloric intake before NewYear's resolutions go into effect.;
How about a large bowl of bite sied pieces of fresh fruit.You will need only toothpicks to serve napkins to wipe off juice covered chins; so delish, all will love it.You can always add a tray of cookies or homemade candies for the sweet toothed coworkers

Evelyn, Sounds like your party is mostly sweets. Black velvet cupcakes
and coconut flan sound great. A tray of candy would be great and a tray
of veggies with dip woud also be great! That way you wouldn't have such
a sugar high from all those sweets. lol lol

Evelyn, you mentioned a caterer & to me that means that all food will be provided. If this is the case, why not do your cookie tray another day (the first day back to work after Christmas might be good).
