Renee -- I had never heard of chocolate snickerdoodles - couldn't even imagine such a thing.  I just found that recipe and had to try it.  They are good but I do prefer the regular, old Snickerdoodles.
Does everybody have the Snickerdoodle recipe?

Nancy,
Both recipes sound yummy. I will have to try them. I do make regular snickerdoodles which I love, but chocolate.................

Angela -- Experimenting with new cookie recipes is easier for me.
I just taste one (or two or sixteen) of them and take the rest to kids.

Nancy, Hope I can post today! I am stocking up on all my baking items too!!! I just got 2
72oz. bags of nestles choc. chips at Costco with $2 off each bag. Limit of 2. Next week
I'm going to get 2 more bags. We have Sprouts store that I go to every week for fruits and
vegtables and they have a big bulk section for spices, nuts etc. so you can buy whatever
amount you want. I wait for sales to stock up on pecans and walnuts. Hope you have that
type of store near you!!

No Carol .... I'm in a very rural, small town area and we have a mid-size Walmart (who just dropped a couple more of my favorite items), a small locally-owned grocery.  I can go into the next town where's there a giant Walmart and a WONDERFUL locally-owned grocery .... a really good store that's a treat to visit IF you're rich.  And there's an Aldi's but they accept cash only which makes it very inconvenient to visit.
So I'm a Walmart shopper ~sigh~
lol lol - I even LIKE Walmart --- just now got home from my daily visit!

We had to fight to get a Super Walmart and finally got one last Sept. Their prices are so
much better than Vons, Albertsons, and Ralphs. Walmart's prices on fruits and vegetables
are too high so I go to Sprouts for that. All our stores are within 5 miles of our home. That
is good because our gas prices are still at $3.89 a gal.

Diane, Nancy and all others,
John made it back, after 5 1/2 hrs, but the stimulator is working and adjustable. It is going to take practice and a lot of effort to adjust, power, modify, move exactly where the sensors buzz the right nerves connected to the right pains. It actually is a computer in a power generator under the skin and connected to 2 paddle sensors w/8 contacts each inserted in the spine. This does work but will take time. Thank you all for your prayers and best wishes. Now turn on the charms for all our other VBB friends who are in need.
  Thanks again,

 John

John,  I am so glad to hear it's working!  Everything takes time to adjust, hopefully it will be without too much pain for you.  Still praying for you and all the other VBB folks.

John -- it's good to hear from you - such a giant step.  Here's hoping and praying all goes well.

Tonight I used the new Dark Chocolate Morsels in the old chocolate chip cookie recipe.  They're GOOD!!
I was too involved in lots of stuff to check but I *think* the new chips are a bit larger than the older ones.
Maybe tomorrow I'll dig out some of both varities and compare.

Tomorrow is my janitor day at church ..... Usually it gets full of members heading out calling on people and teens practicing music.  Tomorrow is a day when all the men will work on our new building.  I'll supply DONUTS -- not cookies - lol lol.  Early morning just seems like it's donut  time instead of cookies.
I just have to figure out how to do a giant pot of coffee and sugar and cream in a place with no furniture and I have no idea about outlets

Thanks for posting the 2 recipes, I have everything but the pecans & I sort of blew my weekly budget buying 6 cans of coffee for hubby(was on sale & I saved at least $18.00 & it will last the rest of 2011 & part of 2012). The one store near me carry some shelled nuts in the bulk section, I will go later today to pick up extra corned beef(limit of 2) to freeze & will see if they have pecans.  I was thinking of adding a little yellow food coloring to the dough for Easter.

Fran -- THANK YOU!!  Thanks for that lovely photo of the basket full of cookies.  What a great idea.   I'll be taking a load of cookies to my church's Easter dinner.  I always put my cookies in a giant plastic bowl or just load a 9x13 alumnium cake pan.  Now, thanks to your great little photo I'm going to be looking for a great big Easter basket.  I'll line that with plastic wrap, fill it with cookies and add a giant bow on the side.   Won't that be nice?
Now I have to start looking for a basket.

Next Sunday night we're having a celebration for a young man's graduation. Yesterday, in my drug store, I found a huge, bright red, semi-clear plastic bowl.  It's price tag was $17.99 and had been marked down over and over to $3 !!
