Well I'm a cookie lover at heart but I thought i'd be different this year and make several kinds of popcorn to have around the house for my open house that is tomorrow/today (it's 3:00am). so all year i've been on "the popcorn trail" and it's been interesting!

You've got the sweet popcorn, the savory, the salty, the spicy. You've also got some that never in my right mind think of making and a good example of this would be one I saw Maple Rosemary Popcorn! I can't even get my head to go there it sounds so bad!

I have seen many popcorn recipes i want to try but figured I would calm down the flavors as there'll be all ages coming through the house mingling and talking and laughing and some of the more scary kinds scare me to taste as in "hot chili pepper" and "maple with rosemerry"And i also learned that you can take cauliflower and turn it into cauliflower popcorn!

There are a few good ones at Bettycrocker.com and there are many ideas for popcorn at Kraft.com & here you will find few made with jello & some other yummy ones. On the bag of mini marshmallows was a recipe for Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn. I tried and was so yummy! There are several popcorn ideas at Livebetteramerica.com  This is a healthy site that i have been cooking with for years. They already make the recipe healther so you don't have to and their food is really good plus they have the nutrition facts printed after every recipe. Allrecipes.com is a great place to look for popcorn.

After reading so many ideas from others on their popcorn you can start to get ideas yourself. It gets to be fun to see how many popcorn ideas you can make. I make my Pumpkin Pie Spice popcorn by drizzling white chocolate over warm popcorn and then I give a good dusting of the pie spice. wow. think I talked long enough! did I bend your ear too long?  Laughing

It would be fun to see what kinds of popcorn we ladies can invent! My newest I will try is peanut butter and honey. POPCORN ANYONE?

Peanut butter popcorn....add some chocolate to that and I would not leave the bowl alone!

Such a simple and really inexpensive thing to make but it looks so special.
I have guests that are going to come over on Wednesday and I just might make some.  I thought I would put a movie in for the kids and some chocolate drizzled popcorn would go well with a movie. (If it lasts that long)

Thanks for the great idea.

I love popcorn, but it doesn't love me. When I was 9 years old I ended up having my appendix out after eating popcorn.. And now my IBS gives me problems when I eat popcorn. Wish I had something nice to say about it

I love popcorn, but I'm the only one in our home who does. So my "treat" is Orville Redenbacher's 94% fat free microwave popcorn!! While growing up on the Iowa farm, we grew our own popcorn, and nothing beats that flavor. We popped it on the stove with this ancient black popper in a puddle of butter...yum!

Nancy, one of my favorites. It's called Snowflake Popcorn and it's from Betty Crocker.
1  bag (3.5 oz) microwave popcorn (any variety)
1 jar (7 oz) marshmallow creme
           Small colorful candies, if desired
  • 1 Heat oven to 325°F. Spray large cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  • 2 Microwave bag of microwave popcorn as directed on bag; remove and discard unpopped kernels.
  • 3 Empty jar of marshmallow creme into medium microwavable bowl. Microwave uncovered on High about 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute, until melted.
  • 4 Shake popcorn into marshmallow creme, being careful not to add unpopped kernels. Stir gently until coated.
  • 5 Spread popcorn on cookie sheet. Sprinkle with candies. Bake about 10 minutes, stirring after 5 minutes, until marshmallow coating is dry. Cool completely on cookie sheet on cooling rack, about 30 minutes; break up large pieces.

Thank you Vicki -- I have a bag of "real" popcorn but no microwave stuff.  I'll add it to my shopping list

My mother always made oven caramel corn and it was the best.  I have the recipe but haven't made it.  Since Mom  is gone, I guess I'll have to make my own if I want any.

I make mine in the Microwave.I melt brown sugar ,butter and  white syrup ,pour it over popped cor.
Put it in a paper sack and put in microwave for 3 minutes, take the sack out and shake and ture over
put back in microwave for 3 minutes, take out shake and turn over, back in for abnouther 3 minutes.
Take out and pour in bowl it will be sticky so you need to keep stirring until before  somewhat dry.
I put my nuts in when I pour on the syrup so the nuts are covered with the syrup also.

The flavored popcorn sounds really good! Maybe one of these days I'll try doing that.   I do like plain popcorn though lol.

Would you girls please share a recipe for homemade caramel corn? The grocery store/bag variety is simply awful and over-priced.  In addition, I'm looking for recipes similar to Fiddle Faddle/Crunch&Munch.
