Really good stuff ... cookie dough  spread in 9 x 13, baked.  Immediately spread with chocolate chips then sprinkled with crushed toffee bars.  Wow, that's pretty and delicious.
Two batches of peanut brittle.
Then started fudge ..... gotta' have lots of fudge.

I am getting started on Cranberry walnut bread.  Next a double batch of Sticky Ginger Squares.  I don't know if many of them will leave the house!  A batch of "Trail Mix White Fudge" is also on my list to make.  I may hold off on the fudge, my grandson loves to help make fudge so that may wait until this weekend. Oh I almost forgot Oatmeal Carmalita Bars they were requested for a "just sweet treats" gathering I am going to. I finished all the shopping for everything I need all I have to do is start.  Tell the truth with as busy as the stores are it takes less time to make the stuff than it does to shop for the ingredients.

I think today I will make white chocolate bark with peppermint for my grandaughter.  She's the only one in the family who loves white chocolate so I'll have to make the regular for everybody else.  Supper may be late tonight LOL!

I'm done with my candy making for this year: fudge with nuts, fudge without nuts, almond roca (recipe posted earlier), almond bark, and of course, the chocolate covered cherries (recipe posted earlier). Now I can sit back and enjoy my favorite season.

Will be making Crabbies, spicey crackers, then baking graham cracker cookies and sugar cookies.  More of the same tomorrow, I hope.

~sigh~ 99% of my baking and candy making are done and delivered.
I didn't find the time to make any divinity and that's something I really wanted to do.  I enjoy that.
So this afternoon I'm going to boil up a batch ... I'll find someone who wants it - lol

To Nancy G - I haven't made divinity in years. Would you post your recipe, please and thanks? Does your recipe have mini-chocolate chips in it  by chance?

Verlee - lol - my divinity recipe is so old ... chocolate chips hadn't been invented!!  *joke* .... but it is so old that mini-chips had really not been invented.
It's still warm when it's spooned into pieces I wonder if any chips would work.  I dont know.
I made a batch while ago ... as usual it gets too set, too stiff before I can get it all spooned out of the mixing bowl.  So it's not all perfect looking but the taste is divine.  It's so smooth it almost dissolves in your mouth.

DIVINITY  (from my 1961 Betty Crocker cookbook)

2 2/3 cups sugar
2/3 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup water

2 egg whites stiffly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
2/3 cups broken nuts

Mix sugar, corn syrup and water in medium-large saugepan.  Stir constantly until sugar
dissolves; then cook without stirring to 260  degrees (hard ball stage)
Remove from heat and pour, beating constantly, in a fine stream into the beaten egg whites.
Add vanilla and continue beating until mixture holds its shape and becomes slightly dull.
Fold in nuts.  Drop quickly from tip of buttered spoon onto waxed paper in individual peaks.

That sounds real good Nancy, thank you for the recipe.I think I'm going to make Mint fudge later with mint extract,no mint chips in any of the stores I go to.I made your recipe for the sugared nuts....wonderful.I don't have an 8x8 pan so I doubled the recipe for all the fudge that I made and that also worked out just fine.I always make double of any fudge that I make,it won't go to wasteLaughing

Oh gale -- I'm so pleased to hear that the sugared nuts turned out so good.  Nuts are expensive to use so I always keep my fingers crossed.
I used a pile of the things in the divinity I just made too.  Maybe VBB Nestles should award us pecans for all the points we collect?  lol

And I forgot to say that the divinity is so good I coudln't stop "testing" it.  LOL -- Finally I decided I had to see how it would work in a plastic bag. LOL

I made a big pot of Mexican Chicken soup from a recipe by Ina Garten( the Barefoot Contessa) on the Food Channel.  We had it last night for dinner, but it is such a big recipe that we will have it for at least 2 more meals.  I also made a jalapeno corn bread to go with it.  It is almost like a spoon bread, but is made with a corn bread mix.  Yum!
