Gale, Scalloped potatoes with ham and cheese. I also save the bone and some of the ham to make split pea soup or bean soup. I love a swiss cheese and ham sandwich with dark bread, mustard and mayo.

Thanks for the suggestions Carol,The scalloped potatoes are a good option.I found a recipe that calls for potatoes,cabbage and ham,that sounds good too.I also found a recipe for ham salad.I know for sure I'll make bean soup,the bone is in the freezer for a week or two from now.I'm Hungarian and we make our bean soup with pinto beans and we some times put nokedli in also.Nokedli are spatzelle or dumplings.
