I would think a few days at least.  But I have found they tend to get hard and crumbly after that.  Usually they don't last very long at my house but there have been times it has happened, then we just dunk them in hot chocolate and eat them that way.

Soft cookies I keep fresh and soft by putting a slice of BREAD in the container with the cookies.

For the hard and dry cookies -( Biscotti)I keep them in a tightly closed container.

As soon as my freshly baked cookies are cold I put (what I'm not going to eat immediately) them into a zip lock freezer bag and into the freezer.
I've learned that they will stay fresh and almost perfect for 3 months.

Left out they get eaten l--o--n--g--   before they go stale.
I have found that if you store them in the freezer they will stay fresh for quite some time.  Wrap well.  I wrap in plastic wrap then place the wrapped cookies in a zip top bag. (Also comes in handy cuz a frozen cookie is harder to eat spur of the moment, about 4 seconds in the microwave though and that problem is solved)
For short term storage air tight container with a slice for bread will keep the cookie fresh.
By the way don't store crispy cookies with soft chewy cookies the soft chewy will become crisper and crispy cookies will get soft.
