I haven't tried this recipe but it was just sent to me by a woman I trust -- she said I just had to try them

JALAPENO POPPERS

10 large fresh jalapeno peppers
/> 6 oz. cream cheese
/> 1 tsp garlic powder
/> 1/2 tsp salt
/> 1/4 tsp black pepper
/> 3/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack Cheese
/> 10 strips bacon, cut in half.
/>
/> Preheat oven to 450.
/> Remove stems from peppers and cut peppers in half lengthwise. Carefully
(I do this under cold running water) remove membrane and seeds from inside of
/> peppers.WASH HANDS!!

/> Combine cream cheese, spices, MJack cheese and spread this mixture in
/> peppers. Wrap bacon around each and secure with toothpicks.
/> Bake 25 mins Enjoy. :-)

Nancy, This looks like a great recipe. I have printed. When I do
Jalapeno Poppers, I just fill with cream cheese and wrap with
bacon and grill them. This one adds spices and more cheese.
This one my stepson, wife, and grandkids will really like. The
more cheese the better for them. lol lol Thanks for sharing.

this is the recipe we use---------or very close-----we don't use the salt, pepper or garlic-----because of allergies--------------and we cook them on the pit---------here in texas we have a special rack to hold them separately------------------they are awesome

another tip about cleaning hands------------after washing-------rub your hands on the faucet in the cold water---------------for some reason stainless removes smells like onion---peppers and many other aromas---------since i have a strong sensivity to many scented products----------i have used this method for many years and it really works
the original tip was to use a spoon---------but i soon figured out that if that worked --------the faucet would too------------and now i see at least one chef on food network----anne burrell is also using the faucet

while i was trying to edit the last post i somehow got into a major server error and thrown completely off this site

anyway-------i was adding the fact that you can wash your hands ------------and then under cold water ---------rub your hands on your faucet-------it will remove most odors/scents from your hands

the original hint said a sterling spoon-------but i soon learned that any stainless object will work

Thanks Nancy, I am dying to try this recipe. I'm pretty sure my family would love this. Another note about protecting your hands is to use lightweight latex gloves (like the ones that doctors use, disposable,) Toss them when you are done!

I was almost 30 years old when I tried to cut my first jalapeno ...... whew ...... I was trying to chop that miserable thing and my eyes and nose were gushing. And they HURT. Because my eyes were dripping so much I tried to wipe them with my hands.
Oh, my goodness !!!.
I think it was 30 years before I tried another.

Nancy, I never use gloves or water. I just cut them take the seeds and ribs
out and I'm either making salsa or quacamole so I always use lime. After
I squeeze the lime juice out, I just rub my fingers and nails in whats left
in the lime peel and rinse my hands and then wash them with soap. That
takes care of it and I can rub my eyes or do whatever. It really does work.
They say you can do it with lemon too. Just a little tip!!

Try not to get too jealous, Nancy, but I bought 2 huge Haas avocadoes at the fruit and vegie stand last weekend, for 50 cents. mmmm good

Hi Carol I just bought 6 of them at Aldi's for .49 cents each we had some last night and I think I'll suffer through more tonight. lol lol lol That's a laugh.If I can have my wish I would die with an avocado in my mouth,steak in my left hand and crab legs in my right! My son can't wait to try these jalapeno poppers.He uses hot sauce on everything.When I was pregnant with him I ate jalapenos by the jar,on everything.I wonder if that's why he loves hot food?

avocado festival every year and we have gone several times. They

I love avocados so much. I have heard of the ice cream,but haven't seen it around here.Avocados are so good for you too,it contains a lot of fat but it's the heart healthy type.Sometimes when I'm on my low carb diet I eat guacomole with those pork rinds they sell by the chips which is what I'm going to have later for a snack.
