This is a very easy one.
Place the cream, sugar, flavoring in a small zip top bag.  Zip and place it in a larger zip top bag.  Place ice cubes and salt in the larger bag.  zip that one up and toss back and forth between you and your friends or family members.  You can do one for each person so they can add what flavorings they want.
You can do the same thing by placing ingredients in a small jar and placing the smaller jar in a larger can, a coffee can works well. Place salt and ice in larger one and roll back and forth on the floor.

You can search for instructions on how to do this as well as basic recipe ingredients.

In stores like Bed Bath and Beyond I have seen balls that look sort of like the balls that hamsters run around in that have an inner container and an outer one.  You place the ice cream mixture in the inner one and ice and salt in the outer one.  roll it around, toss it and you have ice cream.  The container on the inside is so small I don't think it would make enough to for more than 2 people at the most and if you are an ice cream lover like I am it will do for one person.

The ice cream made in a bag in a bag of ice used to be a standard for 4-H and scouts.  Each kid made their own so they could flavor it as desired from the options available at the time.  Also they did not have to share.  It did involve cooperation for tossing, rolling etc.
It was great fun as well as yummy.

i forgot to say that before plastic bags were so common and coffee cans were still  real cans, ice cream was made with a 1 lb can inside a big 3lb can for the ice.  It was then rolled or kicked etc.

I checked a little further and all you need is a study bowl to place your ice cream mixture in  and place in the freezer after 45 mins take it out and stir vigorously by hand or electric hand mixer, return to the freezer and every 30 minutes repeat this procedure it should be done in about three hours.I can't wait to go shopping to buy the ingredients to try this.No ice or salt is needed with this method.

I've heard of using plastic bags before.  Sounds good for someone like me that only wants a serving now and then.  Don't get me wrong, I like ice cream, I just don't eat a lot of it.  Just had a thought, I saw the Post for Eggless Cookie Dough.  That might work great with this recipe.

Thanks, the picture is from down in our Metro Parks near the nature center. I'm not sure what type of ice cream you like so here is a link http://www.serving-ice-cream.com/ice-cream-recipe.html  I'm going to start with vanilla and go from there.

That sounds like so much fun, not to mention exercise!  Might even work off a few calories before the ice cream is ready lol.
