I nice head of cabbage grated, some people just chop it ,my family always grated it and that is how I prefer it ,1 stick of butter, 2 yellow onions chopped,salt and black pepper to taste.12 oz. package of wide egg noodles cooked as directed on the package.Melt the butter,sauté onions until lightly browned,add the grated or chopped cabbage,the grated cabbage sautes better than the chopped,season with salt and pepper as desired,stir often.Cook until carmelized and tender,when done stir in the cooked wide egg noodles.The secret is to cook it long enough ,more butter or oil can be added if needed.I make this often for our street parties,everyone requests this and is also a family favorite.I hope you enjoy this.
