My Mom makes a similar recipe but without the half and half.  Unfortunately(or not lol) I have never been able to eat it.  Maybe because my Dad insisted that I eat it when I was a child even when it made me gag.  But thanks for sharing Gale.  I'm sure others will enjoy it.

This has my mouth watering!!  However, I am unable to eat much spinach as I am on Coumadin, and I have to avoid vegies etc. that are high in vitamin K.  Maybe for a special occasion!!  There used to be a restaurant in L.A. area called "Lawry's".  It specialized in Prime Rib, and always served creamed spinach with it.  It had a taste of garlic in it.  This makes me think of that restaurant.  Thanks Gale!!!!

this is so good.
Amazing how we can take a "healthy" vegetable like spinach add butter, flour and cream to it and turn it into something not quite so healthy?

This recipe sounds delicious to my husband.  I had to eat creamed spinach once a week in grade school, so it sounds a little less appetizing to me.  But, give me raw spinach day and I'll gobble it up.

When I was a kid we had spinach probably once a week ...... home canned spinach cooked with lots of vinegar and spooned over mashed potatoes.  We all loved that and gobbled it with jelly bread.
