Asian Honey Sesame Chicken


INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 1/2 pounds meaty chicken pieces
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
  • OR 2 tablespoons Crisco® Puritan® Canola Oil with Omega-3 DHA
  • 2 tablespoons Asian sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons crushed sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh ginger

PREPARATION DIRECTIONS:

  1. 1.
    RINSE chicken; pat dry. Combine all remaining ingredients in large resealable food storage bag; add chicken. Seal. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight, turning once or twice.

  2. 2.
    HEAT oven to 350ºF. Pour 1/2 cup marinade into 13 x 9 x 2-inch glass baking dish. Add chicken. Discard remaining marinade.

  3. 3.
    BAKE 35 to 45 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink in center and reaches internal temperature of 165ºF.

Hi Vicki isn't this the one you posted before? Anyway this is a great recipe I made this and we really liked it.I love ginger and eat it often, The pickled ginge ( gari ) that is eaten as a palate cleanser between different types of sushi is so good and very good for you.I might thaw out a package of chixken tonight and make this for Tuesdays dinner.Thanks Vicki.

For those of us who haven't seen this recipe before, thank you. As for the ginger, recipes like this one is a basis to work from, you can make changes to suit your taste.

I made this shortly after it was posted the first time too. I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts and added MORE ginger. LOL A very delicious, healthy recipe.
