Gale - Thank you for this recipe.  I have not had ham spread since I was a young married woman (quite a few years ago!).  When I read this recipe to my husband he asked if we could make it the next time we have some leftover ham.  This sounds so very good and I will definitely try it in the near future.

I remember this from the 60's and 70's. I remember my Mom used to make
this and I looked for the recipe a while back and couldn't find it. I know
that this recipe is real close to what she made. Thank you so much Gale
for this wonderful recipe. I need to get ham.

No They don't sell it this way you have to grind it.I just use my food processor. When I worked in our small neighborhood grocery store the deli lady used to make ham spread, this was close to her recipe.I used to get this often for my lunch.I tried making it with bologna and it just wasn't as good in my opinion. This makes a good appetizer also.

We too had this when I was growing up. And when the food budget was really tight, we used bologna ground, up in place of the ham. Not too bad.

Thanks for the recipe.  When I was young my mom made a spread with a good grade of bologna ground, sweet pickles, some pickle juice, Miracle Whip and a small amount of yellow mustard.

Our  family liked the spread made with bologna better than one made with ham.
