Do you have a favorite Crock Pot meal...please share your recipe.

I have a crock pot and I would like some new ideas please!  Crock pots are great when you are a working woman or if you have a day that you just don't have time to make a cooked meal.  Maybe we all will get some new ideas or recipes that we can use!

I would love to hear some recipes too ....
I have two crock pots - large and small - and I have never used them for any thing except carrying food somewhere

I think my favorite is the pot roast I do with the horseradish and cranberry sauce.  I posted that recipe a while back.
I often do a Polish Sausage with a Hot German Potato Salad in the crock pot.  Or a pork and sauerkraut.  These are pretty standard not much of a recipe there.  I do add a tablespoon or two of brown sugar to the sauerkraut along with some caraway seeds.
I think I use my pressure cooker about as much as I do my slow cooker.  I like to think of the pressure cooker as a slow cooker on speed.  Pretty much does the same thing in 1/3 the time of stove top cooking and something that will take 6 to 8 hours in a slow cooker can be done in an hour or so in the pressure cooker. If I am going out then I like the slow cooker but if I am home it is almost as easy to use the pressure cooker.
I like having the option to use either so I don't think I would give either up.

Beef rump roast with cream of mushroom soup and dry onion soup mix.  Just put all in crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours.  The gravy can be thickened and sour cream or plain yogurt can be added if desired at the end of cooking.  All you need are mashed potatoes and a vegetable to round out your meal.

Do any of you worry about having an appliance plugged  and heating all day?

I want a crock pot! I think I would use it. I just don't have much space in my small kitchen. These recipes sound yummy.

Irma - I don't have space in my kitchen either .... I bought (one at a time) three very tall plastic/acrylic/whatever cabinets for my garage.  I hired someone to put the first together and saw I could do it myself.  And there are a of couple table height units too.  Wonderful.
I store all my not-for-daily use things, bathroom tissue, paper towels, detergent, cupcake tins, yadda yadda out there and it's great.
My upright freezer is out there too.
I'm so fortunaate to have a two car garage!

I've never owned or used a crock pot. I learned to cook meals in the microwave many, many years ago, and so didn't feel a need to ever get a crock pot.

Barbara, for a "new" recipe try the pot roast that I posted a while back.
Ingredients:
Beef, I like the 7 bone or blade roast
2 or 3 onions
Carrots, I love carrots so I use a pound bag of them.
3 or so stalks of celery
2 Cups or so of beef broth or 1 can if you use the can of broth.
1 Can whole berry cranberry sauce
1/2 to 1 Cup horseradish.
salt and pepper to taste.
If you want potatoes add a few cut into quarters.  I happen to like the gravy this makes better with a wide noodle rather than potatoes.
Brown the beef.  Put into crock pot.
Cut the rest of the veggies and add to the pan you browned the beef in.  Let the veggies pick up a bit of color. Toss them into the crock pot.
Add the beef broth and the cranberry sauce.  Once the cranberry sauce has melted down a bit add the horseradish.  Pour this over the stuff in the crock pot.
Cook until meat is tender anywhere from 4 to 8 hours depending on the crock pot and the setting.
Like most pot roast recipes you can add or omit items as you wish.  The important stuff in this one is the whole berry cranberry sauce and the horseradish.
