Stuffed mushrooms : 24 large mushrooms,3T.butter,3T.chopped onions,1 T.lemon juice, 1/2 t.dried basil,salt and pepper to taste,8 oz.Italian sausage,3T dried Italian bread crumbs,3T.parmesan cheese +2 t.butter melted . Clean the mushrooms and remove the stems,set the mushroom caps aside,chop the stems.in a frying pan melt the butter,Sauté the chopped mushroom stems and onions until onions are translucent and then add dried basil,pour on the lemon juice,add salt and pepper to taste.Cook until almost all the liquid is gone.Set aside to cool,Mix the raw Italian sausage wth the cooled mushroom mixture.Stuff the mixture into the mushroom caps.place in a greased 9x13 pan,add 2T.melted butter to the bread crumbs and parmesan cheese.Sprinkle over top of the mushrooms and bake in a preheated 400* oven for 20 mins or until sausage is done,baste the mushrooms a couple of times while baking. Enjoy.

Wonderful recipe and I LOVE MUSHROOMS, but my husband doesn't. Can I make these and then freeze what I don't eat? I was wondering is the mushrooms would get rubbery!
