In Response to fall apple baking:
I love fall, first I start out with apple recipes with fresh orchard apples & local cranberry bog cranberries, then slowly move onto yummy pumpkin recipes. Breakfast or dessert, I can find a great place for these main ingredients!! I recently found a recipe for apple crisp that called for an 8x8 pan. Well I got the ingredients together and realized it was way too much for an 8x8, so I made it in a 10x13. I added a few more apples as well, sprinkling some extra cinnamon & sugar on top of them because I feel apples can never have enough cinnamon! The topping called for 2 & 1/2 sticks butter. I put in 1 3/4 and it still worked out fine! If there is any way that I can cut back on the fat, I do, but I do not want to give up on the good butter taste in baking!! This apple crisp turned out great & I will definitely attempt it again, though I do not know if I could recreate it exactly the same!!

I wish there was an apple orchard close by ... the apples in the store are just not the same!
