Since it is going to be over 100 degrees today, I think I will save this recipe for another time, but I will definitely save it.  I love potato soup and using the frozen potatoes certainly will save time.  Thanks!!!

Nellie - Another great sounding recipe from you - thank you!  I will be waiting for reviews on the taste of this.  All of my family loves potato soup and this sounds so easy to make, so if it tastes good all the better.

I had a bowl a little bit ago        those potatoes are all I've used for soups ever since I found them
I made half recipe because my pot is 2 1/2 qt siz
I cooked on high for 4 hrs before it got ready     I think I should have defrosted the potatoes first
I did not use the cream cheese       I added sour cream to the bowl, green onions and cheddar cheese
and I did add about 1 T of knorr chicken flavored bouillon granules  for extra flavor

I rarely have frozen potatoes in the freezer.  If I get the urge to do this do you think it would be alright to use grated potatoes?  I figure the long cooking would cook them through and make them very soft anyway.
If I plan on making this I would for sure have the potatoes but you never know when it will be a soup night.

Welcome Patricia, lately Nellie has been sharing an abundance of recipes with us. I have no idea where she finds them all and I am having a very difficult time trying to figure out what one I am going to try.

I keep Kroger's       southern style hash browns           diced potatoes (unseasoned) in my freezer all the time, because you never know when you'll want any soup or any of these things   and I rarely buy raw potatoes because they don't keep    and I have a lot of trouble peeling and dicing because of grip problems

they are good for potato soup , smothered potatoes and onions    vegetable beef soup   and hash browns
I also keep their diced onions

when I want potato soup quickly        I just put a little garlic and butter in a small skillet I have  add the frozen onions   and sauté a little      add some of the potatoes and a can of chicken broth     and cook until soft     then add some carnation milk  and if it's thin I use those potato buds from sam's (in the milk carton)
in my bowl I add sour cream, cheddar cheese, green onions and bacon bits      VOILA!  potato soup in about 30 minutes

Thanks Nellie, for the recipe.  Potato soup is my favorite soup (right beside cream of tomato!), and since I always have frozen potatoes in the freezer (I buy at least 3 bags at a time!) 'cause you never know when you might want some potatoes to go along with scrambled eggs, etc., I will surely try this soup.  I probably will wait until I think a "cool" evening will be coming along.  Thanks again!  It sounds great!

Nellie - thanks to this great sounding recipe I bought some frozen hash browns and I'm ready to go ..... I'm just waiting for some weather that's not so hot.
I hope the woman next door will want some of it.

I always have some of my own, "home-made" frozen onions, ready to go.

Well, I did it!!  Today I made this crockpot potato soup -- following the recipe exactly, except I added a bit of crisp bacon and some chopped ham.   It's very good.   Thank you Nellie
But I sure hate scrubbing that giant crockpot.

GRANA here;
 hI NELLIE V
; Thanks for what looks to be  a Great recipe (potato soup) I do not have a crockpot but my  stove has a very low - simmer mer setting &   my microwave oven can simmer/slow cook @10% power so once it cools off,  I'll make your soup; top it w/ pre-cooked bacon pieces &   fat free cheddar shreds
