My family and friends always request that I make a Black Bottom Rum Pie for family and special occasions. In fact my son in law will not let me come unless I bring his favorite pie. He says it isn't a holiday without that pie. What do you like to bring? What dishes do you make for special occasions?

There are 2 things that are requested. Sticky Ginger Squares and Cranberry
Almond Pound cake. Other times it is my Outrageous Brownies or Chocolate Almond Torte. I am willing to make anything. And better to make it and bring it someplace rather than having it all at home where temptation is so strong!

I used to always carry a cake. Most of my family get togethers involved birthdays. But my favorite dish to take is mac & cheese with the imitation crab meat added in. It always makes people smile.

Mint Brownies

chewy Brownie mix 1/2 tsp. peppermint extract

1 stick butter 2 c. confectioners sugar

1 T. water 1 C. Chocolate chips

3 drops green food coloring 6 T. Butter

Bake chewy brownie mix 28 minutes and cool. Beat together butter, water, green food coloring, peppermint extract and confectioners sugar. Spread onto cooled brownies and put in refrig. 1 hour. Melt chocolate chips and 6 T. butter. Mix and spread onto cooled brownies. Cool in refrig. 2 hours. Cut into 1 inch squares.
