In Response to Re: DESSERTS FOR THE HOLIDAYS???? : I have suggested this for years....Salvation Army, Goodwill and all the other resale shops for plates to put cookies on to give away. This helps out a worthy group, keeps paper plates out of the landfill and looks so much more festive. And you don't have to worry about getting the plate returned. Tea cups and saucers are also a great way to give away candy and cookies. Not to mention a selection of teas could be packaged with a few cookies and maybe a book.

I used to do this all the time the only problem is my little Grandma friends always tried to return the plates or containers.lol Too funny.Unlike the younger generation when you want your containers back you have to keep asking please bring back my containers! lol (my oldest boy is good for this) The one year I found some beautiful plates at goodwill. One I found had a Cardinal our state bird sitting on a snow covered pine branch as soon as I saw that I knew who was getting a plateful of cookies on that one.I try to match containers to the person I'm giving them to.My one neighbor is a joker and I found a coffee mug shaped like a toilet, guess who got that filled with Buckeyes! He got such a kick out of that! Now is great time to go to the thrift stores they all have there Christmas stuff for sale.
