I get a newsletter from The Slow Cooker Chronicle, their web site is www.allfreeslowcookerrecipes.com. Give that a try. They have a recipe for Cream of Sweet Potato Soup. My sister doesn't like pumpkin pie, so I've followed my mother's recipe and used sweet potatoes instead. Why not do it in reverse and substitute pumpkin for sweet potaoes? You might also try looking for recipes for butternut squash soup and substitute pumpkin.

Nicola.. (by the way love your name!) Almost any recipe for a squash soup would work using pumpkin.
Word of advice for you  though make sure you use a cooking pumpkin not a carving or jack-o-lantern pumpkin.  The carving pumpkins are more fibrous and not as suited for cooking as the smaller ones grown for cooking.
Also save the seeds and roast them toss them on a salad or sprinkle on the soup for a little crunch.

By the way any recipe that you find for pumpkin soup will most likely call for canned pumpkin.
Roast, steam your pumpkin then scrape the pumpkin from the rind and treat that just as you would caned pumpkin.
I do like to put the pumpkin pulp in a pan to cook off a bit of the moisture though.  You could skip that just watch how thin your soup is.  If you find it is thin leave the cover off for a while to evaporate some of the moisture.  You can still do that even in a crock pot just turn on high for a while with the top off and you will get rid of the excess water.

There are several pumpkin soup recipes here on VBB.I'm sure any of them could be made in a crockpot..All of them call for Libby's canned pumpkin.
