Hi  Nellie no I left the skin on .I think that's why it thickens up from the natural fruit pectin in the skin. They seem to dissolve, now the sugar amount I added along with the cinnamon was according to my taste I used the Italian prune plums which are a little on the tart side..you might like less or more sugar depending on how sweet your plums are. It's nice and thick now since it's in the fridge,I hope this turns out well for you.I want to get some of those cinnamon rolls too!

I made a pot roast with glazed onions the other day. My husband loved it. I really thought that the meat might have overcooked since it shredded when I cut it, but he loved it that way. It was tasty.

I used my crock pot to make the beef stew for some friends --- my second attempt at cooking in a crock pot.
I bought a really nice 2+ lb. boneless roast.  I cut it into maybe 2x2" chunks and browned them in a skillet.
Then I threw them in my crock pot with some great home-made beef broth.
I had no idea how long to cook this stuff and I over cooked it --- those great chunks of beef that did not burn on the bottom, just shredded.

So I dug out my little crock pot to cook the potatoes, carrots and onions .... I had to do that because I had to leave home and would have no time to cook that stuff on top of the stove.  I cooked that in some canned beef broth.
At time to take it to the deserving people I stirred it all together, dug it out with a slotted spoon and put it in alumn pan.
I dumped all the lovely juice into a saucepan to make gravy.

After carrying all the food to the minister's house I returned home to that giant, miserable mess.... two crock pots, the  gravy saucepan and all sorts of stuff.
I'll never cook in a crock pot again.
