In Response to Re: CROCK POT, MEALS,SIDES OR BAKING???:
Here is a great recipe I found on line,it was just what I was looking for! Crock pot rice pudding 1 cup uncooked rice 1 cup sugar 8 cups milk 2 eggs 1/2 cup milk or half and half 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon salt nutmeg or cinnamon DIRECTIONS: Combine rice, sugar and 8 cups milk in slowcooker. Stir well and cook on HIGH for 4 hours. After this time, rice should be fully cooked. Then it's time to mix together the eggs, 1/2 cup milk or half and half, vanilla, and salt (use a fork or whisk to mix well). Pour into slow cooker and stir to mix into cooked rice/milk. Cover and cook for 20 more minutes (pudding will thicken during this time). Serve warm, sprinkled with cinnamon, or allow to cool. May store in the fridge for 3-4

is the amount of rice in this recipe correct?
i made a half recipe and used 1/2 cup rice and 4 cups of milk
it has a good flavor but it's not a pudding
i seem to remember that when you cook rice its 1 part rice to 2 parts liquid
could that be my problem?
