Hi Darla,Thanks for sharing your recipe for Crockpot Candy.I have cut and pasted this recipe and it is now in my candy folder.I have one question did it form condensation on the lid? Tempering chocolate in a crockpot would certainly keep the temperature consistant .Thanks again.

I own one, never used it.  Will try on a weekend because I'm afraid to leave on all day.  Honestly I wouldn't bake in there - my mind relates to cooking in it.  Good luck experimenting

Darla -- I have another question, please.
Where it says "1 1/2 pkg of white almond bark  (22-24 oz size)".     Does that mean one and one half pkgs of almond bark, or does it mean 1/2 of one pkg of bark?
Embarassed  You have to speak slowly to me. Embarassed
Thanks

In Response to Re: CROCK POT, MEALS,SIDES OR BAKING??? : Again - I'm lost.   What potatoes? And ...... Yesterday I bought a big 7 qt crock pot to carry lots of spaghetti to church.  Gee, that thing is heavy .  I'm wondering,  because it's so heavy, if I'll be able to carry that thing full of food.   LOL - now I have 3 crock pots - small, medium and large.

Hi Nancy, I have a 8 qt. crock pot and use it all the time. It is heavy but I can lift it. Put your
crock pot in a  box  so it will not move around when you have it in your vehicle. You never
know when you have to make a sudden stop. Did you get one of those stretch rubber
things that hold your top on tightly when you got your crock pot? They are wonderful. I
have a 6, 7, and  8 qt. crock pot and totally love them. I also have a little one. Good luck
with your spaghetti.

Carol - it's so nice to 'see' you!!
Thanks for the suggestions for that goliath crock pot ....... If I can get the thing out of my kitchen into my little truck, I'll be OK.  When I get it to church 2 or 3 young men will run to offer me help.
Last year I had my average crock pot filled with chili and put it in the back of my truck and I had complete disaster ..... It DID turn over!!  You can't imagine what it did to all the stuff I carry back there .... especially that liner of the truck bed.  And I had two white plastic lawn chairs back there plus all my usual cleaning stuff - a Dyson vac!!  So this year the crock pot will set on the floor of the front.

Hey Darla - I couldn't wait to try that unusual candy recipe so I flew to Walmart and got the peanuts -- I had everything else.   I used just 1/2 of a pkg of white almond bark - hope that's right.  This is making an ENORMOUS batch of candy.

Nancy, You must have had a real mess with the white lawn chairs and all the other
stuff. Good idea to have it on the floor in the front. It's good to see you too.

CROCK POT CANDY
In a crock pot, layer the following ingredients in ORDER:
16 oz. dry roasted peanuts-unsalted
16 oz. dry roasted peanuts-salted
1 German Chocolate Bar - broken into pieces
1 16 oz. bag of dark chocolate chips
1 1/2 package White Almond Bark (22-24 ounce size) broken into pieces

Place lid on crock pot and turn temperature to LOW.
Set a timer for 2 hours. DO NOT PEEK!!!

In 2 hours take lid off and stir until mixed thoroughly.
Drop by teaspoon full onto waxed paper. Let dry
completely. Store in a tin or tightly covered container.
 ................................................................................................

The  recipe does mean just one half of a pkg of white almond bark.
The recipe calls for a 16 oz bag of dark chocolate chips .......
all the bags I have contain 10 oz so I used one and a half bags which was way too much.
I ended up with too much covering.
It's good but I could not tell that it contains three different kinds of chocolate.

Hi Gale.....Nope....no condensation.  Isn't that amazing?!  This does make a LARGE amount of candy; but it is soooo good!!
I did find it hard to leave it alone.  I didn't eat as much of the second batch....got my share of the first, though!!

Hi Nancy G.....As to the Almond bark, I used 1 and 1/2 pkgs. of the bark both times.  Also, a 16 oz. bag of dar chocolate chipes is put out by another provider, whose name begins with an "H"....(this is a Nestle site....didn't want to offend them).  LOL  Yes, the recipe does make a HUGE batch of candy.  I made my first batch for Christmas, and gave a lot of it away  (after I had my fill!!)  I didn't eat as much of the second batch; but it somehow did disappear!!  Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Darla - I used just 1/2 of one package of almond bark ....... that's about 11 oz, and I should use 32-33 oz?  My goodness - and I thought there was too much "dressing" for 2 jars of peanuts!
Well, that was my first attempt at cooking with a crockpot so it was a great success!
