In Response to Re: Cranberry Relish:
Nikki, this isn't a crispy relish. It's just made with a bag of fresh cranberries, apple, orange, jello, and sugar. It's very easy to make and is actually something like the cranberry whole berry sauce.....only tastes a whole lot better!! Hmmm....you did give me some great ideas there....I may try putting some into apple pie and apple crisp. That sounds pretty good indeed! Thanks! I might even try adding a touch to my homemade applesauce. That reminds me....last year we had some peaches and pears that were starting to spoil and someone told me I should make them into a sauce. Never heard of doing that before, but it was worth a try cause I didn't want to throw them away. I made both....peach sauce and pear sauce. We ate them plain but I also added a little bit into some containers of applesauce. Gave it a great new taste! Sure is fun to experiment with various foods, isn't it? H.M., thanks again for your freezing tip of the relish. I took out the small container I had in the freezer and it tasted great....just like fresh made! In fact, I made two more batches of the relish yesterday for supper and I put the rest into the freezer in containers. They go great with a meal of chicken or turkey, with peas, stuffing, and applesauce.
