not my recipe  this ones been around for a while .

Pineapple Chiffon  cake

2-1/4 cups sifted cake flour
1-1/2 cups sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup salad oil
5 egg yoks
3/4 cup unsweetened pineapple
1 cup (8) egg whites
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

Sift dry ingredients into mixing bowl:make
a well in dry ingredients . In this order,
add : salad oil , egg yolks , and pineapple
juice . Beat  until satin smooth.
   In large mixing bowl , combine  egg whites
and cream of tartar .Beat  until  they form
very stiff  peaks (stiffer than  meringue
or angel cake ) . Pour  egg yolk  batter
in thin stream  over entire surface
of egg whites, gently  cutting and folding
just until  blended . Bake in ungreased
10 -inch  tube  pan in slow oven .
(325%)  55 minutes ; increase  heat  to
350 %  and bake 10 minutes  longer.
Split cooled cake  in 2 layer . Fill with part
of pineapple whip .Topping ; frost
with remainder .Trim  with pineapple daisies .

Pineapple whip topping

Thoroughly  drain 1 no. 2 can (2-1/2 cups )
 crushed pineapple , chilled . Gently fold drained
pineapple into 2 cups heavy xream whipped .
