In Response to Re: candy:
I usually don't make my candies, etc. this early, but I wanted to get them shipped off to my son so he'd have some before Christmas. Thus my family will be receiving their treats early, as well! They get: chocolate covered cherries (of course!), almond roca, fudge w/nuts, fudge w/o nuts, almond bark, pralines, peanut clusters, lemon bars, date bars, 7-layer bars, chocolate peanut butter krispies, German chocolate caramel bars, chocolate peanut butter cookies, pumpkin bread and zucchini bread...and next week I'll try my hand at Nancy's divinity recipe. In the past I have found that everything survives quite well for at least 4 weeks. As Carol does, I keep everything in air tight containers in a cold spare bedroom (since I don't have an extra refrigerator any longer - lol). And I agree that some of these seem to taste better as they sit, like the fudge, roca, lemon bars, and 7-layer bars. The chocolate cherries must stay in the refrigerator, however, as the chocolate will start to separate otherwise.
