Hi there! I love oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, but I'm in a pinch for time...does anyone know if you can add oatmeal to store-bought cookie dough? If so, do you need to do anything else to it ie: ad

Can you put oatmeal in store-bought cookie dough?

Hi there!

I love oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, but I'm in a pinch for time...does anyone know if you can add oatmeal to store-bought cookie dough? If so, do you need to do anything else to it ie: add more liquid, etc?

I'm far from an expert but I would not try that.
If the time is in the future -- you need the cookies tomorrow -- you could mix the dough tonight and bake the cookies tomorrow.
And, can't you find some store-bought oatmeal dough?  A friend of mine uses the ready-made dough and I think I've seen oatmeal.

Only thing I can say is try it.  Let it stand overnight to be sure it is incorporated and moistened.  There is oatmeal raisin cooky dough in the refrigerated section of most groceries also oatmeal cranberry cooky dough.  Surely chocolate chips can be added to these
