My son and I went shopping yesterday.I picked up some flour tortillas.I'm going to make breakfast burritos like I used to make.I fill the tortilla with scrambled eggs, cheese and a brown and serve sausage.I sent these to work with hubby for his breakfast break at work.I rolled each one up then wrap in a paper towel and he microwaves these, the towel absorbs any moisture, then after they are warm he puts salsa or taco sauce in them.We have even included hash browns in them. You could make these light by using egg beaters and low fat cheese. It's far better than the fast food places and a whole lot cheaper. If you have any breakfast ideas please share with us,thanks!

Hi GALE G;
YUMYUM; I  makea similar buritto often; we enjoy them for dinner or  supper w/ a bowl of soup, chili or a salad   I use whole wheat flour   or  low carb torrtillas
(retired) hubby likes  a bowl of  cereal w/fresh fruit  for breakfast or half a toasted whole grain bagel w/cottage chese or PB .This allows him to have a slice of bundt cake,or a  brownie or a few cookies mid morning after his daily 5 mile walk.I'll bet his coworkers are  jealous  of hubby's  homemade breakfast???????

His co workers always comment on his homemade meals, tell him he is lucky.I have always made his meals even when I was working.I always cooked for him and his partner as well when he was a Paramedic and driving an ambulance. They would swing by and take their meal back up to work to eat it.Boy I sure miss those days when we were still young and able to do so much.

Gale always brings us new ideas and projects!!  Thanks Gale.

Breakfast for me is often a 1/2 - 3/4 cup of Jimmy Deans crumbled, pre-cooked sausage tossed into a small skillet.  When it's getting hot I stir in one egg ...... That gets piled on (brace yourself) on some bread slices with catsup.    It was pretty recent when I discovered that sausage and I'm really pleased with it.

You ladies have no idea how much you all have done for me and my morale over these past couple of years. The past few years have been very difficult for me with health issues.I never thought I would ever be able to bake or cook like I used to before all this happened.I still can't do everything like I used to but I am able to do things I love to do and that is to bake and cook for family and friends. You have all been so willing to share with me and I truly appreciate all of your kindness.God Bless each and everyone of you.A special thank you for my friend Susan.

We also make our own muffin or biscuit if you prefer ,egg, sausage or bacon and cheese breakfast sandwiches.I also make omelets with anything that could possible be good in an omelet.Nancy, I think Jimmy Dean makes the best breakfast sausage,I also use that for my sausage gravy,it's very lean.I also love quiche,it's great for breakfast or lunch served with a nice salad.

Gale .... I could use that "Jimmy Dean  Fully Cooked Hearty Sausage Crumbles Original" (whew) for sausage gravy??  Oh wow, I never thought of that!   I'm too lazy to cook a bisquit so it will have to be on toast.
I haven't cooked sausage gravy for at least 10 years.

Nancy,I suppose you could but you may have to add a little oil to it to make a good gravy .I use the roll sausage,I break it up and add a little water to it to make sure it cooks all the way through,as the water cooks off and it begins to brown I stir in the flour and then stir in the milk well,no lumps and allow it to cook and thicken,I used to serve over biscuits,I like mine on toast. One day I was lazy, lol one day! I bought plain English muffins and my guys like those better than the biscuits. The guys like theirs with fried eggs on top.

For breakfast, I like to take a whole grain torilla and spread peanut butter or Nutella on it and then wrap a banana in it.  Quick, easy and tasty!

I suppose so if you like it that way :) My hubby's sister used bacon grease all the time. She lived in Mo.and she asked me to save mine for her to pick  up when she came to visit. We stayed with her for a week and I gained 10# that week from her cooking it was fantastic but very rich.

Well, breakfast or any meal or snack time bacon grease tastes good ...... and in my opinion Tongue out it's a great anti-depressant.
When things look sad or bad a little bacon grease is comfort!

Nancy, Thanks for my laugh of the day! Bacon grease is an
anti-depressant. I love it.  lol lol I wonder if I could use that
as an excuse for why I gained weight. Sorry I needed an
anti-depressant so I had some bacon grease. lol lol I don't
think that would go over so good at TOPS.

My mom used to make us golden rod toast. She would make a white sauce using butter, flour and milk, seasoned anyway you like it.She used hard boiled eggs, she chopped the whites and added them to the white sauce, served over toast. She would then press the yolks through a sieve over the white sauce and egg mixture, the powdery egg yolks resembled the pollen from the goldenrod.I loved that I thought that was special she always made that after Easter with the left over Easter eggs.

Come on Carol ..... say that at TOPS and I bet you get applause!!

The boiled eggs from Easter we always turned into deviled eggs and every one was gobbled.  I still LOVE deviled eggs.
We have so many dinners at church and one woman proudly brings deviled eggs for every one.  And they are always
gone before I fill my plate.
