In Response to Re: Biscuits!!!hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm : Yes that method will give you a workable substitue for buttermilk but I have several recipes which use buttermilk and I thnk the real thing gives better results in terms of texture and moistness. I use buttermilk in pancakes, waffles and muffins. A couple of my cake recipes which were handed down from my mom also use buttermilk. Therefore there is usually buttermilk in my fridge.
