I will put a note on the recipe that I printed out. When I make it I will post the time it took. I am guessing that it will still be around 1 hour.

I've never seen a banana bread recipe like this before (sour cream and orange juice) - can't wait to try it!!

Hi Nikki,If your bundt pan is 10",that should be the same as a 10" spring form,I would think that 1 hour would be a good starting point to check to see if it is done.I think you'll like this.Since buying the spring form pan it's just easier for me to bake it all in one pan.

I think the OJ is used to activate the baking soda.There is such a small amout it really doesn't add to the flavor.

I bought a jug of orange juice this morning (I usually don't -- I like other juices more) and wondered if I HAD to have it. I think my bananas are almost ripe enough. I want to get going on this recipe.

Nancy,I usually just buy an orange if I only need a little.I do buy orange juice from time to time but there is no room at the Inn.The fridge is loaded.I sure hope you like this.We all like it here.Years ago I baked twenty loaves to go to an alcohol rehab center for the men that were there for the holiday.There were alot of other goodies too.I just never thought that I would get done baking all those loaves of banana bread.

Gale - what a great idea!! I didn't know I could make that sub - never thought of it. And I DO have fresh oranges in the 'fridge. LOL LOL I buy those for the lovely, lovely orioles that visit my feeders. They love oranges!

I made Gale's Banana Bread this afternoon. I did it! I made three 8x4 loaf pans - they are lovely - darker than I expected but very "light" tasting. I wrapped two loaves and put them in the freezer and I'm eating the third loaf one slice at a time.
One hour is a bit too long for baking such small loves - I used 40 minutes and did fine.

everything seemed to fall in place today so i made this banana bread/w nuts
it made 18 jumbo muffins-----------that took a little over 40 minutes-

i will make them again----------they are very good--------

Sounds like a recipe I need to try. I always use 2 loaf pans. I like the sour cream idea. I sometimes substitute plain yogurt for sour cream and now that there's no more 8 oz yogurt cups, the 6 oz will be perfect. I usually use half whole wheat flour in my banana breads.

I did this in a Bundt pan it did take an hour.
Half of it made it down the street to the previous owner of the bananas, I just had to share it with my daughter and the kids. My Grandson did not even mid that I put nuts in it!
By the way did you notice that I said the banana bread that I used to make.
I like the banana flavor in this much better.

i have to pick up some bananas today to freeze--------i took 5 of mine to sister and b.i.l. yesterday and 7 to my son--------i had eaten one -------------had one for breakfast today-------------none to go in the freezer because there's only 3 left

Well thanks ladies.I'm glad that you've tried this recipe and like it.In my opioion for what it it worth ,I think this is the best banana bread recipe that I have ever tasted.It's been in our family for 40 years.My neighbor is allergic to nuts and she puts unsalted hulled sunflower seeds in hers.
