Preheat oven to 325*  Bake 1 1/2 hour or until tooth pick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean
Mix together 3 Tabs.sugar and 1 teas. cinnamon
Grease, well a 10" tube or bundt pan, coat the bottom and sides well with the sugar and cinnamon mixture set aside

3 cups APF
1 Cup sugar
1 Cup light brown sugar,packed
1 1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil
 3 eggs
3 cups chopped apples your choice,I used red delicious with excellent results
 2 teas. cinnamon
 1 teas. baking soda
 1/2 teas.salt
  2 teas.vanilla
  1 cup chopped walnuts

Beat the oil and sugar together until well blended, add the eggs one at a time blending well after each one,add vanilla and mix well. With a spoon stir in apples, set aside.Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.Add to the batter stirring well with a spatula, batter will be very thick, add the nuts, again stir well.Spoon the batter into the prepared pan evenly and smooth over with the spatula.Lift the baking pan a couple of inches off the table and let it fall to get any air bubbles out.Bake as directed.Allow the cake to cool in the pan on a cooling rack a 1/2 hour then then turn out on a rack to finish cooling.Sprinkle with powder sugar when cool. This is a moist cake with a little crunch coating. My Family loves this one and so do I.

I have made a cake like this and I love the results.  The first time I made it I was a little surprised that there was no other liquid in the recipe until I figured with 3 Cups of apples you  have enough liquid!
I have also made this with half the oil and used applesauce. Have not replaced all the oil with applesauce as I do think the fat is necessary to help with flavor and moisture.
Love this with a caramel glaze drizzled over the top.
I am not usually a fan of walnuts but this cake can handle walnuts.  The walnuts do not have the typical, sometimes bitter flavor that you sometimes get with walnuts.

Well, phooey -- I've driven past Walmart twice today.  Now I have to decide if I have to go back for apples or if I can wait until tomorrow.
I HAVE to have apples SOON

An apple a day keeps the doctor away..

I almost always have apples in the house.
I add them to a lot of recipes.  As a matter of fact I am making Butternut squash tonight and I will add some apples and cranberries to the chunks while they are roasting.

Bakery -  s-h-h-h-h-h-h -- I had a phone message from a dear man at church asking me if I'd seen his lost tie clasp.  Of course I had not but I thought he would appreciate it if I went and looked.  No problem and I could go to Walmart and get my apples.  I searched and searched at church -
I had the keys but I discovered I did not have my purse!!  At home I'd pulled all the keys out of my purse and taken off.
So I had no drivers license!  That was worse than having no money.  I drove home very slowly and very carefully and decided to just skip Walmart.

I vote for the apple cake.  Absolutely delicious!  a bit of caramel sauce adds calories but also mkes it even yummier.

Where would it go?  Who would I give it to?

lol lol - I just answered my own question!!
If I make it early tomorrow morning I could take it to the school at church.
