The only type of Mexican flan that I have made was for dessert,like a baked custard.There are different types but I have never made a savory type flan but I have seen recipes out on the internet.Sorry

thanls gale----------i've tried google-ing but most savory ones have a crust-----not interested-----

do you remember the impossible pies---------i think what i want is like that-----------but a lot more eggs

I don't own a box of Bisquick to check, but many years ago each one had a recipe for a crustless "pie" made with lots of eggs, bacon, onions etc

Nellie, omit the crust that is called for on any quiche, frittata or other version you find. I would use a water bath to bake it just because you do not have the crust to protect the eggs from the heat.

thanks nikki-------most flans do require a water bath

nancy ------------my handicapped sister and her daughters loved those ----------------impossible pies--------------and i made them for them at least weekly---------also knowing that recipes disappear off boxes frequently-------------i cut many off and store them in a zip bag in my bisquick cannister---------
also if anyone is interested -------i know that-------the ask heloise column and web site has a recipe for making your own biscuit mix
