Make a 9x13 pan of brownies but add around 4 cups (no less) of chopped pecans.   Crumble all that after baked and cool and serve over ice cream.

Store the leftover crumbled brownies in lots of the small "Snack" size zip lock bags, put all the bags in one big freezer bag and you're ready to go any time with ice cream.  I do this all the time - I'm never without a big bag of this stuff.Embarassed

Is anyone having the same wonderful weather that we are having in PA.  Right now it is raining, snowing and sleeting all at the same time.  Our roads are a sheet of glass and there are accidents galore.  When oh when will Spring be here???

I love the Dump Cakes.  "Play" with a variety of cake flavors and fruit types.  Pumpkin puree and apple pie filling works well with a spice cake.

When I make the Dump Cake I put the fruit fillings on the bottom then sprinkle the cake mix over the top.
I told myself the next time I make the cake I was going to mix the butter in with the cake mix to get the butter distributed throughout the dry cake mix, this way I wouldn't have "dry spots" where the butter did not saturate the mix.  Have not made one since then so I don't know how my plan would work.

Renee, I make a dinner somewhat like your chicken one but I do pork chops.  I brown them first.  Make stuffing just like you usually do but I also add apple and cranberries.  Put that in the bottom of the pan lay the pork chops over the stuffing.  Cover with foil and bake until the pork is done.  Very tasty.  If it looks like it needs a little moisture I will make a simple gravy  or use broth and pour it over the chops the last 15 minutes or so.

Scalloped potatoes and pork chops are great this way also.Assemble scalloped potatoes in a 13x9 Season and dredge boneless pork chops in flour and brown in a skillet, lay on top of the potatoes cover with foil and bake in a 350* oven until potatoes are done, uncover the last few minutes to brown a little.

Talking about fast and easy pork chops reminds me .....pile some sliced potatoes in a baking dish (peel if you want), cover with sauerkraut and cover that with pork chops.  Sometimes I would brown the chops first and sometimes I wouldn't.  Bake until pork chops are done.

Scalloped potatoes, ham, and cheese in a 13x9. Mix all together with 1 can of cream
of chicken soup, milk, thin slices of onion and salt and pepper. Cover with foil and
bake at 350 oven. I have made this with pork chops and pork steak. Great comfort
food. This is a MI recipe but it tastes great out here in CA. Gale thanks for reminding
me of scalloped potatoes!!!! I am going to make this Thursday night.

My Dad used to make a dish with meat and gravy in the bottom - it might have been round steak or salisbury steak. Then he would put biscuits on top to cook for a crust of sorts.  I loved the biscuits and gravy.  I think the meat may have been at least pan fried to partially cook it first.  But I was never interested in that part!
