I want to make pumpkin cookes, already have a can of pumpkin pie mix open.  figured I would just leave out the spices in the recipe, but what about the sugar?  wondering if I need to add any

Kim - I am far from an expert.  Nestlé's experts are off for the weekend - won't be back until Monday morning,
If I were baking pumpkin cookies I would not use the pie mix.  I have a faint memory of reading in a Nestlé's cookie recipe to not use pie mix.   I hope that someone more informed than I am will soon come along and offer you advice.
Welcome to VBB -- I wish more help were available on weekends.

You NEED the Pumpkin Puree....it should be in the same aisle where you found the pie mix.  There is a GREAT recipe at this site for Soft Pumpkin Cookies.  My kids and grandkids (and ME!) love them!

Save your pumpkin pie mix for something else use the 100% pure pumpkin puree for the cookies.
You could probably use the mix for a Pumpkin Pie Crunch Cake...awesome cake.

thanks everyone! glad I asked. I got sidetracked & didn't get anything baked. I had opened a can of the pie mix to make pumpkin shakes (yummy!!!) and wanted to use it up.  I have a can of 100% but didn't want to open just for cookies.  maybe I'll make the crunch muffins or something. I wondered why there was no recipe listed for cookies using the pie mix on the website.
