Get info about our site
  Help,I ran out of semi-sweet chocolate chips.  How can I use semi-sweet baking bars(squares) in place of chips, or will they work??  I have them on hand.

Help,I ran out of semi-sweet chocolate chips.  How can I use semi-sweet baking bars(squares) in place of chips, or will they work??  I have them on hand.

Carol:

You can substitute chopped up bar chocolate in place of morsels but it will require you to use a sharp knife to cut the bar into small morsel-sized pieces of uniform size.  This will certainly work but is a bit difficult to make sure the pieces are the same size and takes a bit of time.
